And can't you just get a program to mount the mini-image that is not blacklisted by starforce? And wasn't it that other games could be mounted by Daemon tools and Alcohol 120% after a newer version of the programs because they weren't blacklisted anymore?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
And if you have to get an external DVD-Player you could for the same money just buy the game.

Yup, but still there isnt newer versions of Alcohol 120% AND Daemon tools though d-tools' newer version is expected very soon

So we can wait for a new version of the programs or we can wait for a crack. I think it's not going to take much time before we can play a downloaded version.
BTW when is that new version of d-tools coming out?

Could anyone with the CLONE mind raring up their /system/ directory and uploading it somewhere? I would like to take a look at the protection without having to download the whole game.

Yeah I was thinking of the same thing too, but I don't think it could work because the game code is different.

No one reads the posts eh?

To everyone who keeps asking, for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory u need the following:
USB 2.0 (not 1.1) External Dvd Drive or IDE to USB adapter casing or cords only
U need a speific mdf file that is 38Kb - doesnt matter what "version" u have (all the same retail shit)
High Precision DPM File and u gotta burn it with RMPS at 1x with latest alcohol version

There's no mini image trick, crack, emulation tool etc that will work
Its very specific
All above info is taken from various msg boards (nforce, cdfreak, german sites, isonews etc). Every site that appears when u do a google search in relation to this crack has the EXACT same info on it.

and StarForce Nightmare/Starfuck doesn't work

i bet all will be over with the appearing of Blue-Ray and HD-DVD, think about downloading 15 gb for only one movie. think about the expensive media. think about the BlueRay Burners. or HD-DVD burners. i dont want to be pesimist but maybe in a future this scene thing is going to end.

the only thing in our favor is that maybe the internet ISP will provide a much better connection in the future... and downloading 20 gb in one night will be possible. but the economy as is, is a lil bit hard to think.

maybe with the future a master-mind will appear and say: "hey i can crack all type of protection schemes!". lol that was just stupid.

Well I can download 20 gigabytes in one night easily... I'm sure the rest of the world will have reached that speed too in just a few years. That should be about the time it takes for BlueRay/HD-DVD to take root and games starts to come out in those formats.

(Though this is quite far off-topic...)

And when is alcohol-soft or d-tools coming with a new version that is not blacklisted? Otherwise I think we are going to wait a whole lot of time at a crack for SCCT.

If ever.

This is a very bad sign for our community. If Splinter Cell stays uncracked for a so long time it means we are facing a serious problem. Remember that scene owns the games much faster than stores do, especially so known titles.

The second problem is Starforce broomrape diffusion. Game publishers see everything. Certainly they notice "accidents" like Splinter Cell and most of them will switch to this protection within short time. They will not carry about incompatiblity of this shit and software problems. They will use it because they do not carry about customers but money only.

Even if Splinter Cell will be cracked after a time (Ultima again?) then what if other publishers join Starforce broomrape? Who will be able to crack them?

In my humble opinion there are two choices:

1. Reloaded joins Hoodlum (or reverse if you like) and works on the solution for Starforce. They do not have to work as one group. They could work on Starforce together sharing knowledge - that might speed up its cracking.

2. Ultima exposes to the scene and reveal Starforce virtual machine details.

Just my ideas (I bought the game alrady but am wondering about the future).

Or 3. The Scene will be dead... Wink

I think the number 3 option will never happen... but if they won't start working together... or some really good crackers won't come up... the future of the scene is not bright... Atleast the PC ISO scene... Wink

It's not just one game... Every not cracked game is a step towards the scene's death... Just imagine if every Publisher woud start using SF3, and not just the weak one... but the strongest one of all the options... Crackers woudn't be able to crack anything... No Cracks=No PC ISO Scene...

I know it's almost impossile... Crackers will always be able to crack protections... because if something can be created it can be also destroyed... but the time cracking SF3 takes is very, very long... They have to figure out a new way to do it... otherwise in future you will see 1 game release every 2 months...

you are missing one little thing: daemon and alcohol developers are working real hard to make starforce perfectly clonable, as you can clone and burn/mount safedisc 4 and securom 7.
daemon next version, called Daemon tools v 4.0 (i underline that the latest daemon tools version is v3.47) will be a huge step forward.
and btw, i'm convinced that someone is already working to bring the old good minimage trick back using the usb drive hole... just a starforce-nightmare-like tool that emulate the presence of a usb drive

Probably ShadowX, as the scene guru, didn't notice (or don't want to notice) how many main developers and publishers started to use Starforce. Codemasters, Team17, CDV and Ubisoft are only examples, but wait a second... The Mighty ShadowX knows about it, right?

Why you expect him to be able to do so complex things like imagination? He isn't even able to count. Golden sentence: "U all talk horse shit lol , like scene be dead cause 1 game isnt cracked lol" - man, what year shows your calendar? Wake up, "leet" jabber...

"the scene is almost dead cause they didnt cracked it yet " - it's really good moment for you to wake up or take some drugs. Where did you see "scene is almost dead" sentence? Where're you typing from? Hospital?

Without you Nforce wouldn't be the same. Thank you for being here, champion.
