I dunno, but that bloom effect is way too exaggerated on my rig.. Looked like 10x that picture u posted here.
(i'm a WoW player mind you, so when i say too exaggerated in terms of contrast and color, im VERY serious Very HappyVery Happy lolz)
Way too much contrast and color, kinda sad it looked good otherwise, except for the computer panels which were kinda blurred Very Happy

Are you using the mod, or smartshader? Also, is your monitors brightness level set correctly?

What folder do you put the extensions in? It should be in the normal doom3 folder. Also, if it doesnt work, try hitting numpad 1, which toggles the bloom effect on or off.

Yep it's there, works with the expansion shortcut, when playing normal doom 3, numpad 1 doesnt do shit

i gotta run it now and see if i have some accidental contrast settings ingame (if there are any), tough that would affect it with the mod turned off but meh, who knows

Nope, even turned off digital vibration (i know i know), but same thing, its kinda like NFSU2 with the enchanced contrast setting, if you know what i mean, ill post a screen..

See?

Right now im playing DOOM 3 on Xbox and i must say..WOW!!!! The game is fuckin awesome, the sounds and GFX are freakin sweet...The lightning effects is not as good as on PC but its pretty close...you even have a quick save button on the controller.

Anyway all this to say that game companies should make the PC version first then port it to console...the results might be way much better

Doom3 with HDR Effects -

almost the same? his pic is way more smooth and the colors and everything is just as they are without the bloom effect, for me the bloom effect doesnt just add a glow it also makes the colors and contrast look like that, overkill. Sad

Damn, I have another problem with this game...
RoE crashes during the loading screen of phobos 3 labs.
When the loading reaches 3/4 of the progress bar, bam ! error message (memory reading error bla bla...) and the game crashes right to the desktop.
Nothing is overclocked on my system, and the game ran really fine with no bugs at all during all the levels before phobos labs 3.
Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

I had a slowdown at this point - next level took 10 seconds to get to the "loading screen". Try relaxing your memory timings (SPD values) in your BIOS.

Heh, yeah. Especially considering he's only looking at a light.

LOL! i agree! first time with any game that looks better than the rest but still ALSO runs better than the rest i always just sit there and LOL LOL LOLZ myself to pieces Very Happy

Thats technology for u, for example;
in games, whenever u research something, better armor lets say, it has a downside, like more weight, but no not in real life, in real life when they develop harder better armor they make it harder than any other armor + bendable + lightweight as carbon fibre. Very Happy
Hell, if real life was a game, everyone would complain like hell about it being unbalanced Very Happy I mean, geez, "waah waah that side has got better tanks without any weakness that the other side doesnt have". lol =D
"wah waaah an rpg rocket costs 100x less than my t80 tank but can still destroy it!!"
Very HappyVery Happy lolzz i luv technology

An RPG and a T80 tank are both from the same era, and technology wise are about on the same level.

Yeah but RPGs would be hard put to take out a T-80 from anywhere but the back, and if it has infantry support thats not a problem really.

My point exactly, it can still be taken care of. Where as modern day tanks, such as the British Challenger II, there are recorded incidents of one Challenger II taking 6 Direct hits from RPG's, and 3 direct hits from some sort of anti-tank missle (forgot its name), not to mention all the small arms fire that was being peppered on the tank. The tank escaped without any real damage.

YES I KNOW lolll, but my point was, that real life is unbalanced Very Happy
Either if a million dollar tank gets destroyed by a $100k weapon, or not, its unbalanced in one way or another if we are talking in terms of games Very Happy
I know the new tank armors are really sick, thats also an "unbalanced" thing if life was a game, it offers crazy protection at no real drawback except cost in the worst case Very Happy

I read through all 7 pages to get to the VERY END and it has the answer to the wall-squishing horribleness. Next time I'm gonna read it all backwards. Anyway, back to Doom. YOU WALLS ARE GONNA HAVE YOUR WICKED WAY WITH ME NO MORE!

I keep getting a "memory cannot be read" error when loading the phobos labs sector 3... anyone can tell me if they got past it? I just want to know if it's a crack error or the game.

EDIT: sorry didn't notice NiukNiuk message... but still no solution
