I also find it laughable that the previewer considers Crysis 2's environments "massive".

Of course he calls the Crysis 1 graphics boring. It wasn't on consoles.

Oh God, not Pachter again.

The guy is an idiot. Has he EVER been right?

I bet they invite him only to have a few laughs after the show.

And view distance is only a few meters ahead with fov of 45. Laughing Apparently, after aliens attack New York, everyone embeds binoculars to their eyes and a heavy fog is present at all times. Laughing Pathetic.

Has there actually been anything official about the Pc version? You know, screenshots, videos...

I guess Crytek figured that it was best to hide the Pc version, as it will make the console versions look pretty bad. Very Happy
But, I can't figure out if Crytek intend to deliver a Pc version that looks worse than Crysis 1, or on par with Crysis 1?
If they have chosen to limit the Pc version, then It must be the first time Crytek chooses to downgrade the tech on a game when compared to previous games Very Happy

I'll just leave this here....

Quote:

Five nanosuit powers have become two and a half: strength and cloak being the alternate states it can flip to, while speed is a sprint key and an increased jump.

Laughing

This, however, is a breath of fresh air. It's about time Crytek fixed their AI as it was horribly, horribly broken in FarCry/Crysis. They ALWAYS knew where you were unless you were specifically using cloak. The foliage may have been pretty in those games, but all it served to do was hide the sight of enemies from you - not the other way around.

Quote:

My own playtime with the game didn’t allow me to really push the enemy AI, but I did enjoy their realistic line of sight: my standard reaction to getting shot at was to duck behind a box, and pop my head quickly round one side, before turning cloak mode on and rushing round the other to blindside my confused opponents. If I could get a bumslide involved in the process, all the better. Seeing their confused alien faces staring at where I last was instead of tracking my ghost was reassuring – definitely a refreshing change from Crysis’ omnipotent magic-men who shot you in the head from their perches on the moon.

Haven't you guys figured it out yet? Today's reviewers always praise every AAA title as the greatest game of all time, and then when a sequel is on the horizon they suddenly begin to talk about all the flaws of the first game and how the sequel will fix all of it.

I dont know how other countries handle their TVs, but in germany almost everyone is way too far away from their sets. Maybe it was "optimized" for that? Razz

Speaking about consoles and nothing much aside from some rumors really it seems possible the X-Box 3 or PS4 is getting a bit closer (Or Wii 2 or some such, haha.)

Found this in the changelog when it prompted to check for a new version.

http://www.radgametools.com/bnkhist.htm

Changes from 1.9z to 1.99a (01-04-2011)

* Fixed a crash when playing a movie directly from memory that had no sound.
* Updated to the latest iOS SDK for the Apple devices.
* Added volume control to Bink for iOS.
* Updated to the least SDK on a secret platform and fixed a sound skipping problem caused by this update.
* Updated to the Xbox November 2010 grinhurtK.

Changes from 1.9y to 1.9z (12-06-2010)

* Added XAudio 2 support on Windows and enabled it in the RAD Video Tools - now there is an easy way to test your multichannel Binks on Windows 7.
* Made the Bink player window resizable during playback. Playback also now continues during window drags.
* Made the Bink player default to playing when it isn't the focus.
* Fixed a bug where semaphore handles could leak depending on how the Bink IO and sound threads shut down.
* On a secret platform, fixed a thread handle leak.
* Clear the sound buffer when using BinkGoto to jump back to frame 1.
* Fixed a few rare volume issues on Xbox 360.
* Switched to VC2008 and built with stack frame enabled on Windows (for better release-mode debugging).

Maybe the PSP2, rumoured to be officially announced this month, the 3DS won't need it and there's not been talk of anything else coming out in the near future

The game sounds ok, changing the aliens was a good idea, we'll have to wait and see for the rest

Microsoft will also change name to MiSo so their new console is to be called MiSoX.
