That's very shitty the cancelled it, but they also announced they would be working on an expansio pack for ultima:online and that's very good.
I hope for a newer gfx, that would make ultima really fun.

Dear Ultima X: Odyssey community members,
As of today, development on Ultima X: Odyssey has ended. We feel that Ultima Online is where we need to focus our online efforts and most of my team will be moving to the UO expansion pack, the UO live team, and an unannounced Ultima Online project. Development on UO will be greatly enhanced as we consolidate our resources behind that franchise.
This isn't an easy decision but it’s the right move for the future of all things Ultima, including the community and the team. We look forward to sharing our plans for the future of Ultima Online very soon.
I would like to thank all of the Ultima X: Odyssey supporters who have been with us from the beginning. I hope you will continue to support the Ultima franchise and the development team as they transition to new projects.

wtf they cancelled UO2 like 2 years ago for the same reason "we will continu our work on UO instead" and they just release useless addon with "special rare items" that only one person have and is completly useless and take 30sec to create for them

That is pretty stupid. They keep putting all the effort into sequals to UO that look like they would be all sorts of fun and then axe them opting to gut what content they have and use it for another shitty expansion for UO. gah. At the very least they should have finished the engine, and rebuilt UO using it. As it is now UO is reaallly dated looking. It needs a serious face lift..
