The PC version...ported to consoles, instead of the other way around? Now I'm pretty interested in that game Razz Besides, it's a Polish studio behind it.

Actually, I think it's nowhere said that the PC version is the lead platform or anything like that...

Nowhere said? You mean, like the first sentence of the link you quoted?

Quote:
The developer behind Bulletstorm has revealed that the studio had to "fight" to overcome Xbox 360 and PS3's lack of memory when porting the game over from PC.

Excuse me for the confusion, I wasn't clear. What you quote was written by CVG. But I am not sure this is what the developers said. Read the original interview: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=258288

Quote:
Which format did you lead development on - and does the question matter any more?

No, it is a good question, but also a bit flawed. I'm not sure it does matter any more.
That was problem in the past, but we call the PC a 'fair advantage' - meaning at Bulletstorm's core, every platform looks the same. Of course you can crank up the resolution on PC, but it's not like consoles are suffering heavily.

I am not sure if he means the PC was the lead platform or if for today's games there's no particular lead platform which makes PC and consoles look the same. The interviewer clearly interpreted it as the PC being the lead and kept asking how are they going to port it on consoles which are numerous times slower, but once again the developer said it's just that they have tons of content that takes up a lot of memory instead of confirming that lack of power compared to the PC is the issue.

@consolitis quote Laughing

Obviously this means the consoles are lead platforms. You cannot have huge environments (easily put on PC) on consoles, so what is all the hesitation? Their entire game design is limited to console shitty hardware. On top of that, there are other limitations such as texture size, model detail, LOD distance and rezolusssionsss, which might work to the PC's advantage, but at its core, the game is a console design game.

PC as lead platform... Rolling Eyes Sure, all games are developed on a PC, so that must be it.

Yeah, I still think the PC was the lead. He didn't specifically *say* that but the question was asked and the guy gave an answer that more or less affirmed it.

Did you struggle to cram the PC version of the game onto console?
That's the funniest thing. It's not the console power that we're fighting the most - it's the memory.

See - I interpret his reply as avoiding to answer what's the relation between the PC and console versions because the interviewer got it wrong about the PC was lead, so instead he chooses to say that their problem is that they have a huge amount of content:

Quote:
It's that we have so much content, we're struggling to just fit it all in

It's a typical UE3 engine which is going to be tweaked and tinkered a bit more for some visual appeal here and there, but I can guarantee it won't be anything oddly fancy as of performance and game behavior.

As expected, the few gameplay scenes near the end of the video have some of the best visuals we've seen in a UE3 game. Smile

Not that it matters that much, but yeah, it really looks very good for a UE3 game. I must say, this shooter got me excited way more than most of the shooters from the past few years. I really hope it turns out to be good.

Ive readed preview where Adrian Chmielarz (chief of people can fly- fuck yeah!!!! PAINKILLER!) was talking about repetitiveness...

He said that they are showing the same footage on purpose. There is a lot to the game. he said that its not only leash-kick-shoot combo. There is plenty of ways.... eiter way. They are showing a tip of the iceberg on that trailers. I belive them:P Its sure going to be fun

EA announced that a multiplayer demo for the game is to be released on January 25 for PS360 of course no mention of it coming for PC (similar to Dead Space 2, the latest NFS title, etc).
