quick question
if someone gift me GTA IV bundle from US, can I play it even since its not available in my country?
Desktop: Athlon BE7750+ @ 3.01, 2gb, 4850 512mb gddr3, 120gb+500gb WD
Toshiba Satellite L500-126 - T6500 - 4GB of ram - 4650 1gb gddr3 - 320GB HDD

Well i got GTA IV pack for 10$ and it cost like 40 without discount, great deal.
Serious Sam Complete Pack was even better deal for 4euros and now it costs 40 :O

Does anybody know how Steam chooses the region for the games that you can buy and the prices?
Like when I go on vacation to the US, can I just use my german Steam account and buy games like in the US-Steam-Store? Or would I need to make a new account and gift me the games?

It's IP based, as far as I know, so you'll be able to buy from US store if you're in the US.

Good lord, why would you want to come here on vacation? And Sabin is correct it is IP based.

No you won't. You still need to have your payment method match the region you're in, and paypal doesn't bypass that, unless they've recently changed things. When I moved out of Canada, I couldn't use paypal to make payments, I had to contact them for an unlock on my account and I still need to use the Canadian store (Adding ?cc=ca to the end of the store url to display it)

Or use http://hotspotshield.com/ which is a zero config, free VPN that gives an American IP address.
