So as you probably know, the original GTA IV for PS3 run in 640p and was internally upscaled to 720p. I had played it on a 1080p HDTV and the blurrines was simply awful (not to mention 720p -> 1080p upscaling by TV itself) and the goggles did nothing. Ultimately, I finished the game on a PC because of this. Someone might say, 80 pixels lol gtfo, but srsly, it was not a pretty sight to look at.
I heard later that GTA Episodes from Liberty City for PS3 run nativelly in 720p. What am I interested in is, does this new Complete Edition release, being patched to latest version out of box and all, completely runs in 720p (both original game and addons)?
I googled and found nothing usefull, so if anyone can come out with a first hand info, I'd be grateful.

no its still SUBHD Code: | the Xbox 360 version renders at native 720p with clear implementation of 2x multisampling anti-aliasing. PlayStation 3 remains sub-HD: 1152x640 to be precise, but with one correction to our original findings. The PS3 version does feature AA - specifically the blur-inducing 2x Quincunx technique. It's difficult to see, and doesn't seem to be evenly applied to say the least, but when you switch to the internal view while inside a car, the edges on the bonnet give the game away. |
and ahem it runs now better on ps3 but they archived this by lowering all , and by all i mean fuck me crazy all [view distance , cars , incised pop ins etc...] if you can get the 360 version or the PC

LMAO the wonders of console HD gaming!
(Or rather, pathetic engine development?)

Even if a badass PC GPU can't run it properly, it's probably the engine. Consoles still pack quite a punch, the latest games look pretty good.
