I could care less about candy-ass scene politics. If the shit works, who cares how it was done. Bunch of fucking babies is what they are.

Ok, I really tried to like this game, but after having been destroyed by rebeles for the 5th while I'm fucking docked, fuck this shit. Not to mention that for the first hour or so, you're forced to fly a obsolete piece of crap that's not fit to fight space dust, let alone other ships.

So update 1.0.0.2 removed drm completely?
Gonna give it a try then (well, hadn't considered the game till now and now I'm bored so that's why I'm gonna give it a try).

Aaaaand behind the message was RELOADED.
The following is a response to Skidrow's message that accompanied their latest CoD: BO release http://www.nfohump.com/index.php?switchto=nfos&menu=quicknav&item=viewnfo&id=145472
Code: | #
Special Note:
#
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
#
Hello SKIDROW friends! Today we have to discuss a serious issue with you:
#
your securom 'cracks'. It has been for a long time already that some
#
web/p2p groups created loaders for securom games by patching the paul.dll
#
activation routine to make the game run without activation.
#
It took you many months to copy it, so we would like to congratulate you
#
on finally being able to steal this method. Unfortunately for you though,
#
this is not a crack. In fact, you seem to understand so little of the
#
securom protection, that you don't understand how to identify a crack at
#
all and incorrectly identify our gothic 4 crack as a lesser protected
#
executable. The files that you call 'russian', are actually files that
#
were originally encrypted by securom, but that we decrypted to be able to
#
run the game with the cracked executable. If your Gothic crack would be
#
anything close to a crack, you would have also needed to unpack these files.
#
Since you, however, did not crack Gothic, but instead created a loader to
#
bypass the activation and left all the protection code active, the securom
#
code will take care of these files for you.
#
Simple protection holes like these should remain in the private domain so
#
they can be used to make proper cracks faster and so that protection
#
companies do not fix them. This has been an unwritten agreement amongst
#
crackers for many many years. As an example, we had a generic loader for
#
Safedisc that we kept private until Safedisc went out of use. If we had
#
released it publically earlier, it might have made Safedisc much harder
#
for everyone.
#
We are not sure why it took you this long, because it only takes 1 byte
#
patched in memory to bypass the activation and we know you must be very
#
happy that you can finally 'crack' securom games and get even more points
#
in your self-created game scene charts, but please go back to the drawing
#
board for a few more cracking lessons and stop trying to change the rules
#
of the game for the worse.
#
#
#
*Last minute update*
#
#
an example of the poor quality of SKIDROW's securom 'cracks' is their
#
release of Starpoint Gemini. In the words of the developer:
#
#
DRM was in conflict with our own exe file and that caused everything. We
#
came to an agreement with GG to drop the whole protection and release the
#
unprotected version. Here's the exe file. GG will be releasing the
#
unprotected version tomorrow.
#
#
SKIDROW released the unprotected exe as a 'hotfix', but any real crack
#
would have worked fine and not needed any fix at all. |
Actually there's no way the first message was coming from reloaded, just because they bash skidrow doesn't mean it's coming from the same group (all groups agree that skidrow is stealing - just for the serious sam release lol).
Reloaded doesn't just blow their words with the wind like that, they clearly waited for a proper set of releases to attach the note to, because it's a proper way of commenting things.
The iND-kind of releases are not their style. Also, it's been written long time before the CoD:BO nfo from skidrow - otherwise reloaded would comment on some lies from it, making it even much much longer.
By "all groups" do you mean Razor? Because I think they're the only other major group that does "big" releases.. all the others are dead or close to dead at least in terms of activity. I don't see why the other half dead groups would complain..
Like how they bitched on the nfo of their Call of Duty Black Ops "crackfix" that turned out to be a fucking disaster? http://www.nfohump.com/index.php?switchto=nfos&menu=quicknav&item=viewnfo&id=145321
The legit and SkidRow releases didn't have the problems RLD's "crackfix" had...
But as you see, it wasn't an iND release, even though it did not work as they wanted, maybe testers fault, who knows. Fact remains, it wasn't name-less which proves my point.
Found a leveling exploit....
Use your troopers to capture a ship.
The captured ship can take dmg, but can't be destroyed. Attack it, every time you shoot you gain exp, so keep shooting till you hit the level you want(lvl cap is 70)
