Few beers with more than 7.5% alcohol actually taste good. They're great for the youth that doesn't give a shit about taste as long as they get piss drunk on it. For more seasoned beer drinkers that are more interested in taste and experience than getting smashed, alcohol levels aren't terribly important, at least not to myself.

I haven't sampled The Devastator (and I'm 100% sure I wont find it in my local liquor outlet) so I can't judge it, I'm just going by experience. The vilest beer I've ever tasted was a Danish beer called Satan (yes!!!) and that's pretty much what it tasted like, with 11% alcohol.

I drank Guinness only once, when I was a mere and uneducated pup (in the arts of fine brewing ofc Very Happy), and it was too heavy for me Sad The foam was too thick (and the idiot who poured it made too much of it), and the beer was just heavy.

But I would need to remind myself of the taste Very Happy It has been 7 yrs since than...

Guinness always tasted like coffee to me and since i dont drink coffee I did not really like it that much. I usually just drink local beers like shiner bock.

Or I will go with a micro brew of some sort.

Anyone who says Guiness is 'thick' obviously doesn't have a clue and should go back to their mass produced piss. It's 4.5% and barely carbonated, you can drink 5 million of them without feeling full.

I said the foam was thick, which it was, and I really haven't tasted it since then...

The foam IS thick, like any stout that's poured from a nitrogen tap. However I agree with nouse, it is actually a very light beer in terms of flavor. Guiness themselves brag about it being low calorie..

The foam is IMO Guiness's only saving grace really, besides being able to drink a lot of them without feeling too heavy.

But I suppose someone used to Miller Genuine Draft or other such pilsners would think it's a heavier beer.

And I also said I haven't tasted it in 7 yrs, and since then I've tasted pretty much every Trappist beer.

What's a coffee porter? I think I'd like it if it's about coffee grinhurt

If you don't like Stout you won't like Porter Wink

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porter_%28beer%29

The coffee flavour is secondary to the Porter flavour Smile

Just bought a few good beers for the weekend Smile

I already know a few them pretty good except for the Triple Carmelite and this Bazelet (Israeli) which should be pretty good.

Triple Carmelite was awesome! Too bad I had to share :/

For some reason the Bazelet(Israeli) ale beer was really sour. Moreover the last glass we poured had thick sediments :/

I'll call the company tomorrow to complain :/

I just realized I haven't tried Westvleteren and La Trappe (Koningshoeven). That wrong must be righted! Very Happy

Have you tried Rochefort 10, nouse? It has 11.3% Alc and has the strongest flavor imo ^^ It's absolutely amazing Very Happy
