Doesn't look like it. Between Thanksgiving and the expected Christmas Deals, they probably wanted a couple of quiet weeks.

When you've only got 3 customers, you've got to make up the cost of development somehow.
Railworks has got to be the biggest rip ever. Even if I was in to it, I'd be pirating it all day long at that price.

but the moment they bundle this with an economic simulator, I'm all over it.

Anyone else working on this treasure hunt? I wish I knew the objectives coming up because I do not want to buy a $35 game that I will never play again.

Yeah kind of looks like crap. I think they might be violating some laws. I know a lot of contests often had language along the lines of "no purchase necessary" and then they'd include an address where you could mail in and get an entry without purchasing (say like those under the pop lid games). I'm sure they didn't do that shit if there wasn't a legal reason behind it.

Valve is basically saying "you gotta buy all these games if you want in on it"

Not true, you can either send mail, or.. well see how the first stage has the set-up-an-avatar thing that everybody can easily do? Maybe each of the next stages will similarly have 1 very easy thing to do, like that.

What laws would they be violating? Rolling Eyes "No Purchase necessary" ? You mean like at the bottom of the page where it lists the terms and that exact phrase? Rolling Eyes An address you say? Again, you mean like the one listed in those same terms "Valve Corporation, P.O. Box 1688, Bellevue, WA 98009-1688"

No, valve isn't saying you have to buy shit from them. You could create a new steam account with no games, mail in 10 postcards (plus one more for the grand prize), and you haven't purchased anything from valve.

Second phase:

Quote:
* Have 10 friends on your friends list
* Complete Ol' Buddy Ol' Pal achievement in Fallout: New Vegas
* Set a leaderboard score of at least 22,600 on the level 'Mash Face Against Mountain' in AaAaAA!!!
* Play the demo or game The UnderGarden

Like I said, they are going to be some very easy ones that you can do without buying anything.

I mean we have set avatar, add 10 friends, and play a demo, so far. That's 3/10 already.

On the game page itself on greenmangaming

This game requires Steam(TM) in order to install and run and so cannot be traded or refunded.

EDIT: I just bought it and activated on Steam. Smile

No that was a different offer. It actually was MORE than it costs bundled with two other games. You can still get Alpha Protocol, Golden Axe, and Shinobi III (The SEGA Action Bundle) for $6.75.
