Just two more tests away from finally getting my 'S' license. Haven't got gold in many of them to be honest, most of them are just silver, but I figure it's easier and less frustrating to go back and re-do them when you want as opposed to sitting there re-trying over and over. I did make the mistake of deciding to play with the dualshock controller instead of my steering wheel though, which turned it into a bit of a drama since every overtaking manouvre ended in me accidently switching on the windsheild wipers and honking my horn. I'm sure I heard the AI beeping at me with some of my late-braking overtakes as well
Was manageable but it's obviously more finicky without a wheel.

Some very nice shots there, Ispep, as usual
Cheers! They are from the Sebastien Loeb challenges which I'm currently struggling with () despite the frustration they've turned me back onto the Rally component of GT5. It's no Richard Burns Rally, but with a proper rallying car under your feet it's a passable and altogether enjoyable experience. As I said earlier in the thread, the way the game treats different levels of gradients is extremely impressive as you can really feel the climb/struggle up and down hill. I've never experienced it to this degree in another game and nowhere is it more obvious when you're trying to get up and down those bloomin hills in the Eiger rally! It's an understated element of the game, but I'm surprised more people aren't excited over it.
lmao.. i didnt even notice the side mirror at first
Yeah the shadows have that effect on people
S-License in the bag I've noticed the 'expert' events seem more unforgiving on tracks I was previously comfortable on. Not sure if it's my imagination or not, but dropping a wheel it definitely feels like it.
Is there a premium car available for each event? Can i complete the game the game using only premium cars? Is it worth buying still if i'll be playing only with cars that have cockpit ?

There are some events that you have to use standard cars in, i.e no dash. but i felt the same as you, until i bought a few non premium cars which are not as bad as you think.
Yes it is still worth it
As of today, you can smash and trash those beautiful cars in Gran Turismo 5 - mechanical damage has been added.
You can do the demolishing alone or you can head online and revel in the destruction of beauty together, according to TheSixthAxis. And when you're online you'll be able to choose whether damage will be light or heavy or not present at all.
The Gran Turismo 5 damage patch is a beefy 150MB. You'll need to grab today's PS3 firmware update at the same time.
Wow that is retarded i must say.
But I've been on a few online games today with mechanical damage.
Not all that great, but is better then the usual brick car.
Ryzen 5 3600 cpu@3.60 Mhz.
hyper x 32 gb ddr 4 memory.
Msi Carbon gaming pro ac motherboard.
Evga 600 psu.
Msi Armour rx 8 gb 5700 Graphic card.
Ps4 Standard 500gb.
Lg 4k 42 inch tv.
Oculus Quest 2.
It did seem to harm aerodynamics though. Kazuyoshi Yamaguci (or smth like that) is indeed a genius. Show me another racing game where the physics model includes changes to aerodynamics due to having another car on the roof.
It is.
I've been playing a bit more of late and it is by far the best racing game I''ve played.
Once you sust the car setup out before races you want to use, especially for online.
The game get's alot better.
How many cars can you use in multiplayer on this game?
And i can never edit the race restrictions?
They always have a red line through then when hosting a game?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Its maximum of 16 players online and you can use all cars that you bought in single player in online races. As for race restrictions. When you are host, just wait till track loads, then you should have two menus available where you can set restrictions and race options.
As for the game, I'm spending all my time just playing Mercedes challenges on Nordschleife. Getting gold with 300SL on beginner was hard as fuck, I spent almost a day per single section. At times frustrating, even looking impossible, but in the end well worth it. The feeling that you get when you get that gold and watch your perfect replay is just amazing and not only that, It immensely improves your driving skills. I completed last trial of complete lap on third try and went through intermediate challenges with powerful SLS AMG with ease...
Well, until I came up to last one Full Nordscleife lap with SLS in traffic! It looked easy at first. I went through whole track with speed and without a single crash only to cross the line full 15 seconds bellow the target time. I already see I'll have to go back to perfecting individual sections.

Thanks for the help
I need to get intop the single player lol.
I don't even have snow or dirt tires ffs.
I only bought a standard blue Subaru too :S
According to Yamauchi, there are plans in place to upgrade current "standard" model vehicles to the same quality of "premium" vehicles. "Among the standard cars are some historical classics, and we plan on remaking them as premium cars. There are currently some cars that have both standard and premium versions. Those are cases where the cars were remade." Yamauchi did not clarify if these upgrades would also come with a premium price tag.. source http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/66857
