I was anxiously waiting for this, and was crying of joy starting the game seeing the cutscenes and awesome ambiance. Then, it get to the summer and the gameplay turn to a boring free-ride basic quests like Jimmy's Vendetta,... boring. They shouldn't have listened to these people whining about free roam, and continue doing their nice story telling as in the original game/start of DLC.

How was it you enabled the DLC's with a legit Mafia II game? I've just extracted the rar files given by JBeckman along with the NCF files (into steamapps folder) but when I launch the game I get the message that I have Joey's adventure installed but haven't paid for it. :/
O yea I have an Retail game but of course it goes through steam -.-'

It's verified trough Steam and your user account so you need a crack for it to work which allows all DLC (Plus mods made as DLC.) to be functional and activated unfortunately, Steam has increased it's security quite a bit from how I've understood it lately what with CEG 2 protection that alters the exe file for each system, validation trough Steam for DLC and such.

What the hell, I thought that Joe's Adventure contained hours of "serious" gameplay but I've just realized that it's the same arcadey crap with timers, combo points and silly stuff seen in Jimmy's Vendetta. Shift-deleted, apparently 2K decided the original formula was definitely too complex for the actual audience.

Well not me, except for the somewhat uninspired characters and weaker story (if compared to the first one) I enjoyed Mafia II's original fomula.
Also, I don't see how you can even compare GTA to this sort of arcade hybrid with super combos and huge green arrows ala Crazy Taxy larded with random story-unrelated missions

No way am I gonna pay for something that sounds like it's suppose to be within the game from get go..

It starts out as a story but as the reviews point out and as covered by previews and the info if you check Steam it does break down into these generic missions and driving sequences with the occasional story segment to advance the main path of the DLC further but with these timings and leaderboard features plus load-screen mission text info again and all that.

Review of the latest DLC: http://kotaku.com/5699983/review-mafia-ii-joes-adventures-+-the-third-strike-for-a-repeat-offender
I'm glad that kotaku agrees with me that a)there's barely any story, b)the missions are pointless/boring, c)it's a cash grab because it's obvious it was cut from the main game d)a skillful modder could create something better.
So far so good.
But wtf at their comment "Mafia II diehards with cash in their Sony wallet or Microsoft points". The game was released on the PC too kotaku! And you know what? It's a SteamWorks game, and Steam now has a wallet feature too! Not to mention that the PC version is easily the superior one (unless you enjoy playing at ~25fps on consoles and without grass on PS3) and the fact that the game is a sequel to a PC game.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

Mafia II was inferior to the original Mafia, but these DLCs are an insult to any PC gamer.

Let people buy them. There is nothing that can be done about DLCs anymore..
I am glad to see the latest Mafia 2 DLC got panned.
