I watch this when there's absolutely nothing else to watch. The writing or acting doesnt really hold up most of the time for slower episodes, i mean it's not on pair with Breaking Bad or Sopranos where you can have very slow passages and even complete episodes and it really works and keeps you interested.

It feels kind of rushed and a bit too mindless, nothing ever really surprises you. Jax and his GF are just a pain to watch too. Ally Walker (the woman agent) is great, Kim Coates is the best actor in the SoA gang and I hope Kenny Johnson (from The Shild, which i loved) will show up more, he's really great too.

I love this show. These so called "boring" episodes aren't boring in any way. They're more drama and building up than other episodes, but they're as important and worth watching as the episodes with more action in them.

The writing is a little above shows such as Xena and Stargate, but miles away from Breaking Bad, Sopranos or The Shield. It's a very typical "fantasy" writing, hard to take very seriously, but sometimes quite entertaining at least Smile "24" is probably the most similar style, but it's not as good, the writers there at least understood the drama wouldnt be the series strong side because it's just too "light weight" for anyone to take too seriously..

grrrrrr this season is really starting to get aggrivating. While this epsidoe was pretty good im getting fed up with the drawn out so they can leave a juicy cliffhanger!

That's Sons for ya' Laughing in 24 they did that really well at least, or even in other light drama/action series like Prison Break (first season) not so much here imo.. This season has been quite terrible imo :/

The Shield was great, loved how it wasnt all black/white like all other police series (possible exception is The Wire which is also great), made the characters really believable. Had some really memorable characters, like Wagenbach. I dont think im going to remember any of the characters from this show..

But I slightly agree with you on

This is definitely the weakest season so far. Probably looked better on paper.
But it's still one of the best series on TV right now.

you dont agree that this is light drama? It's on pair with PB and 24, but sometimes "tries" to be really dark and stuff, doesnt work though, its still quite bad and they can't really pull that off, the characters and acting is way too weak for that, its not awful maybe, but can't compete with shows like Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire etc. I like when the creators knows and sees their limits (its not like the 24 creators would try to make a really serious/dark episode, they do what they're good at), these don't..

It's decent entertainment but hardly anything even remotely oscar worthy Razz i bet you dont watch a lot of drama if you think its good in this series.

I agree that it's light drama, but overall it's much better than 24 and certainly much MUCH better than Prison Break("Turn on the microwav, er, the EMP bomb!" Laughing).

I think that the first two seasons were pretty good portraying these guys as criminals against even worse criminals or against law enforcement, stuff was black and white (except for Jax) back then.
As for the characters and acting being weak? Compared to Sopranos and Broadwalk Empire sure, but against 24 and Prison Break? No way.

EDIT:

once again I agree, especially in this season.

But you had some of those (not so much dark, more like brutal actually) in the first and second season, like when the outcast/expelled member shows up at the town fair (or something like that) or Gemma's rape on the 2nd season.

Right! That's what I'm saying. I haven't cared much for Jax since the beginning of the show. Walks around with his gangster walk hat backwards. Everyone else in the club is a bad ass, Jax is just a kid.

i also quit watching this about 3 episodes ago. who cares about some biker trying to get his kid back? they should be smuggling guns and running dope, not playing daddy daycare. sure you need some drama to spice things up so it's not all pew pew pew but damn there's no reason to saturate every single episode with it.

Just wait for this particular story arc to finish.

w t f last episode was anticlimactic

usually the case with this show..does many arcs at once and once the big one is tied up they have to use a couple of episodes tying up the rest

Terriers is quite fun, likable characters and it's not cheap.

Back to SOA, well played Stahl, well played.
