What the fuck. Gish, a PC exclusive character, isn't in the PC version? That's BS.

I bet we will get Goo (from World of Goo) as a replacement for Gish.

I'm not saying that they can't do it. I'm saying it's a shitty thing to do to the fans of Gish.

Limbo was much better, it was never this frustrating, just fun and the ways you could die were smarter and more fun to watch too. |
Limbo and this game aren't really comparable. You could compare it with N+ though, or maybe Splosion Man. Limbo was more of a slow puzzle platformer, while this game is fastpaced time-challenge platforming.
I loved Limbo, and I love this game, so I am not really biased, you just can't compare them.
Also, just for the record, Super Meatboys Controls are very tight, don't know what you are criticizing.

I mainly bought it because i thought the controls would be really good, but i didnt like them at all.
It doesnt utilize the analog controlls good enough imo, when you push the analog stick a little meatboy should move very slow and the further you push it the faster he should go, that's the only proper way to use analog controlls. That way you wouldnt need to push a button to run for example. I think i also would have prefered him to jump when i push the stick up instead of a lot of tedious button mashing, in games where you do almost nothing but jump this is a better way and less tiresome for your hand too.

But how would you run to the right and jump at the same time then?

That could be done in a few different ways, one way would be "up right", could also be that he continues to move to the right if you've been running in that direction and move "up". It's been done in games before, its not something i've figured out just now.

I don't think that analogue stick and classical 2d platformer go together. Good digital pad (the one on 360 controller isn't a good one!) and responsive buttons are the way to play those games. Although, I must say that I wasn't exactly convinced by controlls - and gameplay - in Meat Boy the flash game, so I'm still waiting for 'demo' to see if its SMB is a worthy buy.

But then people would complain that they could not jump at full speed, or can not break in the air. Also the walljumps would feel mighty weird.

Steam's rejecting my CC. Can't wait 'til this gets a release. Any DRM that we know of in play?

Anyone mind telling me what differences this from hundreds of crappy flash based platformers? It doesn't have the artistic design of Braid or WoG, or refreshing game mechanics like Gish so I realy have no clue what is all this praise about.

You have many characters from many different games (gish included in Xbox version) with their special abilities as well, the game is very unforgiving and fucking hard, the soundtrack is awesome, there are over 300 levels...
