It exists! It exists! in my hands... Just picked it up.

if that gto is yours last thing i would care about would be playing not so real life simulator Laughing

It is Wink

I have fallen off the map in terms of internet, gaming and IRC since buying it, too many track visits and other things going on... but we are getting our first snow here in Pittsburgh this weekend so that marks the time to park it for the winter and makes for the official start of video game season Smile

A sad day hopefully made better by a winter of GT5.

I'm thinking of buying a playseat (with G27) for this game (and a couple of other racers like GTR ect) only. That's a pretty big investement but it look fucking awesome :

 Spoiler:

Once you play a racing game with a G25/G27 or other equivalent wheel you never look back and just can't stand controllers anymore. And i'm a huge Gran Turismo fan so... Very Happy

they only thing bugging me is that this game has 200 premium cars and 800 standard cars, with those standard cars it looks like you're playing a HD ps2 port of GT4 and not a PS3 game ... and well if those premium cars are only the high poly HD models with cockpit view i am really confused WTF where they doing on those 5 years... now Forza 3 is more and more like a the better game

Firstlook - it's a good game, but does not look very impressive - I mean, not more impressive than Forza 3. Maybe the car models are a bit better, but the track doesn't look that good. As just a game it's cool but as a game under developement for 5 years and with all that bullshit from the Jap guy it might be disappointing. I am not disappointed because I did not expect it to be the eighth wonder of the world. Still, if you already have an xbox and FM3 you can skip GT5.

ok well i bit the bullet and bought the game (i have two ps3) a slim and a big boy....im a 360 fan all the way but i love ps3 exclusives and GT5 simply blows away Forza 3 in every way.. soundtracks, visuals, handling,tuning,etc..oh and the amount of tracks and racing genre's stuck in this title is 2nd to none..its reeks hardcore replay value..there are just so many kinds of racing that can be done on this title.

For those wondering how it stacks up to Forza3... while Forza 3 was and still is one of my favorite games..it simply cant hang with GT5.

By the way..some of the graphics in GT5 are UNBELIEVABLE! Wow!

Until you use a standard car and a ported track, then you want to puke. But ok Smile

Pretty good, if I may say so myself (not that I'm neutral on the subject Wink) Smile She also has no problem with this, which makes it even better!

In fact, she plays games as much as I do - she was the one who suggested we get a 50" Full HD plasma for the bedroom, so she could enjoy her 360 at the fullest. So, we did get one Razz

I'm crestfallen whenever I look at my makeshift stand for my wheel now Laughing

..but any thoughts on the game? Amazon decided to send mine a day later. So for me the wait continues.

Yes

Menus have online functionality, it could be timing out, try disconnecting from the internet for the time being.

Yea, but its only occured in the online menu. and i allways get a "date and time is wrong, please change it" whenever i log on. The clock and date is on time but i still get the message for some reason. And one last thing about that online part, alot of my friends are getting a "could not connect to server".
But i suppose thats just an overload issue, like on any other game the first day. Regarding the other issues, i hope there will be a patch soon enough to fix it Smile

Other then that the game is AWESOME!

Ok, got the right thread this time! Smile

Wow! What a fantastic game! I am in awe to say the least. My first race was on a dirt track in the mountains with a Mustang V8, not good! LOL! It was breath taking but I couldn't stay on the roads! This was a test and the game passed. My next race was in Rome with an Impreza and it was really nice to drive in a game with realistic handling. I came in first and was thoroughly impressed. My son just woke up so I cannot play right now. But tonight I will be starting my career and looking forward to it. So far everything seems perfect. Not sure what people were talking about with the menus? I had no problems with them. I am going to love this game thoroughly!!

Did you install the patch?

From Eurogamer; "Yamauchi pledged that his team would be "upgrading every week, every month" to improve the game". Apparently we can expect patches (with missing content) soon.

Yes, it installed a patch when I inserted the disc. I also did the 8GB install.
