i'm digging it too. found a 1600 points card in a drawer under my tv that hasn't been claimed. since i have that jtag box i really dont have a need for it. thought about just redeeming it and buying this so they get the money. i really should've bought the game as it was worth the money and i really feel like i've cheated them.
i've just made it to mexico again so i've not finished it but my wife and i have a theory on it. don't click it if you don't want it spoiled. could be wrong, could be right, won't know till i beat it

Nope! It's set in an alternate time-line to the main game, but it's all 'real' in the sense that nothing resets at the end.
