mw2 is clearly not the best, but it had fantastic production values... the visuals, the gameplay (health regen aside), design, attention to detail, etc... were great. the set pieces were fucking fantastic... sure it threw realism out the window, but taken as a theme park ride, it was a fuckload of fun.
anyway, finished the game...
overall this game just isnt anywhere near as polished and impressive as mw2... yeah it was stupid as shit, but it was a rollercoaster ride. this one felt closer to the new medal of honor game in that it was adequate... and had some nice setpieces, but it was far from impressive... i mean even the credits... static boring screen, crap music, and an absolutely TERRIBLE font... and thats ur credit sequence? yes, i notice and get pissy over crappy fonts 
and the ending.. i almost had tears... with the jets flying heroically overhead, it was so fucking cheesy... but hey, i guess this is what americans need to see at the end of games and movies?
yep.. sorry treyarch or whatever the hell ur name is... was a good effort, but you couldnt even hope to match mw2, let alone touch mw.
pity, because at times the story did start to draw me in... its just a pity it never really pushed the story and came up with something interesting... and yeah i saw the durden thing coming, but its cool, i liked it.
if mw was a 9, and mw2 was an 8, this would be a 7 tops... for the overall gameplay experience (combat, visuals, story, production values, enjoyment etc...)
oh yeah, and the gameplay glitch when i had to meet weaver on the final level made me FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUU *stomping foot on the ground*.....

Everyone has a different opinion on what a game should be like. I enjoyed and still enjoy MW2. Given the chance to play something else, i would still be playing MW2. Why? It's fun.
Want ultra-realism? Go to war.

So I gave this game another chance and I gotta admit I was definitely wrong about this. Im having a blast with the SP campaign. Good fun!!!

Notice how I said all the weapons feel the same? Thats not cool man. Thats kinda lame.

the guns all have different qualities and all do have different amounts of recoil. Guns in games like quake and unreal do not. By what benchmark fps are you comparing mw2 too?.

There's only one benchmark fps. Counter-strike Beta 5.2. A game where it actually took skill to kill someone( unlike the later versions of CS, where everyone were getting headshots constantly)

can't deny that Raap, i used to play cs myself from beta till ver1.3 just before they done away with quick changing weapons in 1.4. Always loved cs and I have said before cs is one of the purest fps out there still. However the game is old and people want new games to play and to say mw2 lacks any sort of skill to play indicates that the poster is a) not very good at the game so is just venting or b) simply hasn't a clue about what he is talking about!.

5.2 was hardly "the" benchmark version. The deagle always hit, regardless of what you were doing. That's why noone used a dynamic crosshair. The colt was pretty darn ridiculous as well.
I have to admit though, weapon balance is pretty fucked in BO. There's a bunch of LMG's that have virtually no recoil, great for spraying. Compared to CoD1 for example you only had 1 gun which did that really, and that was the Thompson. As a tradeoff, you needed at least half a magazine to kill someone; 2 bullets is enough with the guns in question in BO. For raw action the last few CoDs certainly are good, but none of the 3 (MW, MW2 and BO) have the quality which CoD1 had in my opinion; most weapons were a lot harder to use in that. I'd like to see the goddamn 14yo's running around with their LMG's spraying non-stop handle something like a KAR :E
The difference between weapons is just too minimal; the recoil pattern is slightly different, but most weapons barely have any recoil to begin with. If you can't counter that you really need to stop playing FPS games 
Don't get me wrong, it's good fun, but to say it's a shooter with any depth? No. Given the chance, I'd take CoD1 over the current generation

Both your GPUs are way too hot. Shouldn't be at more than 85-90 degrees, ugh. How's your airflow? Anyway, 35fps with the GPUs that hot and practically 80% CPU usage on a quadcore is definitely odd.

Well, the deagle was kinda odd in the game, but the colt wasn't any better than the AK47 in terms of recoil. Granted, it did have both silencer and scope in that version. Anyway, thing is, if you were trying to go full-auto in that version you'd better be prepared to pull the mouse down; the recoil was immense. With practice you could learn to use that reocil of course, but that actually took skill compared to newer fps games where you can just aim in the general direction and blast away. Same with CS 1.6, at least with the colt. Still, even in 1.6 it's far more difficult to hit people than in any of the newer CoD games. Only weapons with any sort of recoil in CoD is the SMGs, and even those only have small amounts of it on long distances. It's also a rather odd form for recoil; your aim doesn't so much go up as it goes left, right, down, up, etc.

They didn't exactly go down either, I was still connected and could kill people and stuff, but constantly got the 'connection interrupted' thing and was like i had 10k latency. Someone said there might have been a server update?

my E8500 (3,2ghz) is running at 95% allmost all the time, even with everything at low/off (have thye lastest patch) allso have a gtx480. MW2 runs very smooth, but OPS is pure crap. If i turn everything at max still the same result.

It's weird, i found all the LMGs in BO to be useless. I just can't manage to kill anything with them. Low ROF, low damage, low accuracy. Also low running speed. Unless you camp and ambush the enemy, you will go down first. The notable exception is the M60.
I do serious damage with the shotguns though, mostly with dual HS10.
