I must've spent hundreds of hours playing Bioware games.
The games they make today are not representative of what I would consider a 'good Bioware' game. However my views on Bioware deteriorate with every new game they release.
But I suppose I don't qualify as a "Bioware gamer" since the image doesn't show Mass Effect 1 + 2 boxes, and so my opinion about them and the quality of their games doesn't matter right?

It's a solid philosophy, but what are you going to do when games will be so dumbed down and streamlined that won't even deserve to be leeched?
(and trust me, it is already happening! )

I think nostalgia affects your judgement a bit. The Icewind Dale series was also a bit shallow (combat oriented) compared to Baldur's Gate IMO. For me:
Baldur's Gate series > Mass Effect series > Icewind Dale series > Dragon Age
(in terms of the overall quality of the games, not RPG depth)

Bioware that exists today is shit. Every game is worse and worse. Dragon Age was not a very good game but what they are doing with Dragon Age 2 is just sad.

What the fuck Bioware?
(Also Icewind Dale was Black Isle, aside from the engine I don't think Bioware touched that series.)

That is correct, and I happened to like IWD quite a lot, if you ask me.

The first IWD was pretty good, but compared to their other games and Bioware's early games, it's really not on the same level imo.

I enjoyed them too, but I would enjoy them like 10000 times more if they weren't made for brain dead people - talking about ME1/ME2/DA. KOTORs were really good, hardcorish games or so called crpgs with brains. Heck, even DA was really great game, bit dumbed down, but got enough depth. Probem is, every next game from Bio is dumber, simpler and more shiny. Not a good news, really.

while i definitely agree they are continuing to dumb down their games to appeal to the tardos out there, i also agree that i've enjoyed all their recent games. while yes dumbing down sucks balls, has it really made every one of their new games oh so un-enjoyable for everyone?

I love(d) Bioware too, but simply can't ignore their descending parabola and how they decided to please the masses with zero respect for those who contributed to make them become what they are now.

They did say they're going to make games in the Mass Effect Universe that have nothing to do with Shepard

what has bioware done to sell out? what are they planning to do with DA2 that is going to make it so shitty?
bioware makes awesome games, all the ones I played and enjoyed, I would play them repeatedly and I don't even finish most games.
I played balders gate 1, then neverwinter nights 1 +xpacks, dragon age +xpack, and mass effect 2 for me.

To all the haters (and god knows nfohump is full of them) that call every game, company and developer that create multiplatform games "sell-outs" and bash games that aren't even half-way done:
there aren't going to be many pc exclusives anymore so you'd better get used to it or sell your PC's

There's a difference between making multiplatform game and making a multiplatform game that's being dumbed down to fit the widest audience.

And how do you know that a game with no name, no trailer, no info, no nothing, is going to be like that?

We already know that it's going to be a 3rd-person action/adventure, what do you need to know more about it?

Now you just relax now, we have no way of knowing if that won't be so much fun that we'll actually die!
Even if they take out the parts that made Dragon Age a good game, the sequel might still be so fun it'll kill us. We have no way of knowing before we play it.
Look how bloody it is, it's the new old shit.

This, plus in fact the exclusives on consoles aren't as many as before.
None of the current-gen Silent Hill games are exclusive to Sony.
None of the Capcom games (RE, DMC, etc) are exclusive to Sony.
Metal Gear Solid: Rising isn't exclusive to Sony.
Mass Effect games aren't exclusive to Microsoft anymore.
BioShock was a timed exclusive for Microsoft, it isn't anymore.
etc
Games cost more than ever, but gaming has also become so much mainstream, to the point that it doesn't make sense to make an exclusive title for one system when you can get just as much money from a multiplatform release + you can make your IP better well known.
This round is which console manufacturer will pay the publishers to get exclusive DLC.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

"a phenomenon."
