I don't know why but this actually looks more interesting to me than the first Witcher. I tried to like the first one. I really did. haha. Even made myself play it for quite a few hours the second time. But it just seemed "dull" to me. I know, blasphemy, right? I just couldn't get into it. This one, except for the lame ass scripted Dragon's Lair style combat, actually looks decent to me.

Stickers are funny indeed, but apart from that, it looks very nice.

Also, u can't compare The Witcher to dragon age.

Dragon age = high school moral dillemas & pop culture references for american teenagers.

While Sapkowski's prose is absolutely not for kids/teenagers. It's a true mature dark fantasy for grown ups and the IP is 24 years old (Sapkowski wrote the first Witcher story in 1986).

While I agree that TW is darker and grittier than the DA universe, your comparison is not fair. DA:O is indeed one of the most mature RPGs out there, with themes like racism (Elven alienage), rape, gray tones when it comes to moral decisions and others. All this is lighter than in Sapkowski's works, true, but still far darker than in almost any other RPG. If you attest DA:O to have high school moral dilemmas, what do you make of games with much more black/white decisions and clear good and evil deeds?

Actually, jRGPs are those that are full of "high school moral dilemmas". So much that it's cliche.

It's somebody earlier in the game that you kill from my understanding. This prison scene takes place a little ways into the game. I doubt the character is from the first game but who knows.

+1

130 bucks is steep, though... I will have to see what else will be released around that time.

I could get decent suspension forks for that much cash so my arms don't feel like falling off once I start biking down the mountain.

Yeah not getting the collectors edition. 130 dollars is a bit nuts for it and doesn't include the medallion which is the one item I really want.

sucks that collectors edition grants items that they say is best in game. 1 of the best things about games like this is working for your gear and notice the difference once you get it. Not have the best from start to end.
