I actually love it to drive around in circles with slow authentic cars, as long as it feels real Sad I spend more time in GT3 racing around with slow cars than with the fast ones :/

Id say the GT2 game is the best. GT3 comes in a damn close second.
The shear options of cars and the lolness of driving around + fiddeling with the suspension to make the car jump around has made GT2 the number one hollyday game Very Happy
Lime Green starlet turbo with Orange speedstripes on the side has to be the fav car Embarassed

it's all in the age Razz, when I was young i loved playing NFS with the arrow buttons and spacebar for handbrake, that seems boring to me now, we have highly sophisticated physics engines nowadays with force feedback wheels, anything else is just doodoo for me Razz

would take me like 15 hours to download. It's pretty fucking long, but only compared to your average game these days which might be like 5-8 gigs.

Compared to the 2 days it took me to download a rip with my 56k modem back in the day I'd say it's acceptable. lol

While I wouldn't download it because of the size like 2 or 3 days before release, if it came out today or next week, weeks before the actual release, I'd go for it for sure. Got it on preorder but I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it so much sooner and it's fucking GT5... I've waited many years... I can also wait 15 hours for the download to finish. Razz

Maybe after the 15 hours it takes you to download it, someone will find a workaround for the 3.50, but don't count on it! Crying or Very sad

I'm tempted to forego my jailbreak and buy this on release.
But hey I've waited long enough so I'll see how the 3.50 hacking pans out first, and then I'll probably break during the Xmas holidays!

The damage model blows, I was hoping for something realistic, this just sucks, you can drive 200mph head on into a car and just your bumper falls off. Im not saying I want engine in chest death, but surely if you drive into another car head on at 200 mph your race should be over (Obviously you could tone damage down if this isnt your particular kettle of fish)

Would you like them to delay the game to 2014 and announce in 2013 that they have implemented realistic damage for 50 "special cars" only and only on 8 "selected tracks" while the others remai the same they were in 2010 Laughing

thankfully that's something I never cared about in racing games. There's more important things for me than seeing serious damage on a car I wrecked in the game. I don't plan on crashing and even if I do it's not something I'll spend a lot of time looking at.

For me, complaining about lack of damage modeling in a racing game (as long as it's not about crashing, like burnout) is like complaining about disappearing bodies in a shooter. Sure, ideally you'd want the bodies to stay there forever and not having it might sometimes disturb the experience slightly, but it's not something that I'd ever let influence my decision to buy/play a game.
it's a gimmick, nothing more.

Umm No, this is supposed to a realistic simulator, hence you should be penalised for driving into a wall at at 100mph, you shouldn't be allowed to use other cars to bounce off to take corners, oh and dont get me started about the customisation options. Its been in production for 5 years, surely if they were gonna introduce a damage model it would be at least accurate for whats happened IE scraping a car next to you, nothing really, but smashing into a wall, probably you should come away with a little more than a scratched light!! It also seems you cant customise 800 or so cars, apart from the colour and a stupid rear spoiler, I may be wrong tho. Only on the premium cars are you able to do engine upgrade, weight reduction, change rims etc, EVEN ON FORZA YOU COULD DO MORE THAN THIS!!
