I have to check up on every student in the experiment if someone among them is actually pulling off the pranks around Oxford. I went into Helena's room. Searched it thoroughly. And then Charlie's and Harvey's too. All three floors. I also made a small device that has to be put in the gym in order for the culprit to be caught but Sam keeps telling she needs to do that by nighttime. What do I do next?
Spoiler:
Did you take the camera from Helena's room (near the computer)? You'll need it to take pictures in the gym when using the device....otherwise, it might be a number of things you forgot to do to end the chapter...is the dorms the only place written in golden on the map? Also, you know you can use space to show hotspots, it might help if you missing some item
Spoiler:
Yes, I took the camera. The only spots on the map that are not greyed out are the Edmund Hall, The Neurobiology Institute and the Church where the second Daedalus riddle takes place (I finished the riddle part for that chapter therefore this place gets excluded). The other place that I searched was Linkweller's office. But there isn't anything significant.
Still at chapter 4. Now the only place I can do something is Edmund Hall (it alone has golden text). In the statistics menu, it says that I have 131/141 points of 'Every house has a plant'. I've explored all rooms on all three floors - these of Helena, Harvey and Charlie. I suppose I have to find a little something more about the participants of the experiment in order Sam to prepare for the gym experiment, i.e. set up the device and camera. I really don't know what else to do. I've probably searched through all areas 3 or 4 times already. Help, really?

Not sure I remember myself anymore...I suppose you found all the little suspicious things in their rooms, like the photo, the magazine, the box under the bed, the screenplay...right? Been to the pool, talked to the pool guy, been to the gym after you got the camera and tried to rig the doors? Because I remember I had to do it again after I found the camera. Absolutely sure you looked at all hotspots?

I'm a absolutely sure I've done these things.
Spoiler:
When does the experiment begin? I rigged the door once but it just got inactive. And the device stayed at me. This is at the end of the chapter. Do you remember how you finished it?/

Spoiler:
You need to rig both doors, the main one and the locker room door, but I suppose you did. That's it, I just went over the diary again...I rigged the room and went out to the lawn, where all the guys waited for me at noon to cast a vote. The experiment will start at the end of chapter 5 actually...I suppose you could have missed something before that. Just go over all hot spots again
What settings are you guys playing on? I get really crappy performance on my rig with everything set to medium to highest.. makes no difference at all :s
amd x4 955 @ 3.8ghz

Should suffice..? Tried turning off catalyst AI but didn't do anything.
Highest. The graphics are no match for your computer, so it has something to do with drivers probably. The loading screens are annoying me though, even 4-6 seconds is too much in this case.

I'm using the newest catalyst drivers currently. I noticed in your signature you have the same type of graphics card, which drivers are you using?

10.10b I think, not the very latest hotfix(d), the one that was before.
Maybe even 85 .
The storyline, the presentation and the characters are excellent and it makes up for easy gameplay and pixel hunting. Jane Jensen knows her stuff, maybe it's not up to par to Gabriel Knight but it's not far behind imho.
Very enjoyable game. Maybe a bit easy, some pixel hunting but the space bar makes up for that. But the writing and characters are top notch. Haven't enjoyed an adventure game like for a long time. Has an old school vibe to it. Brilliant.
Prolly something retardedly easy i've missed, but how can i open that letter without it looking like i have opened it? its for that student on the bench.
i didnt see it. well also need to find students i.d
thanks again.
EDIT: and the phone number wont work.
Spoiler:
JUDAS
From wiki:
Thirty pieces of silver was the price for which Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus, according to the Gospel of Matthew 26:15 in the Christian New Testament.[1] Before the Last Supper, Judas went to the chief priests and agreed to hand over Jesus in exchange for thirty silver coins. Afterwards, he was filled with remorse and returned the money.
Just like the last line of the riddle.
Spoiler:
The I.D can be acquired in the library from Helena who sits there.
Thanks, KGen. You've been really helpful.
About the clip at the end of the credits ...
Spoiler:
... it just showed a newspaper with a 'The Bride of Frankenstein' deadline being battered by the wind. What's so special about it?
Spoiler:
Not sure, but what is the meaning? I'm still not sure what happened to the real assistant from the intro movie...she came out of the car, rang the door bell and what attacked her? what happened there? And now this page from the book...
I'm a tad disappointed, especially with the pacing... Till around chapter 6 everything is great, the story is unraveling at a good pace, but then everything just happens in a flash. Ok the guy in the shop is the culprit, no he isn't, it's Alice. What shall we do? We must help her, David forgets about the fact she killed his wife in a heartbeat (althou he's been bitching about it for all this time) and she kills herself. It's just too fast, we spend 6 chapters watching David relive his memories, only to have the conclusion drawn in 2 minutes. An extra chapter or two would really help...
Also what was the purpose of killing his wife? Revenge for not taking the time to help her? Jealousy? If she wanted help for her "super-powers" she should have known people weren't going to believe her right of the bat...
Also is the house haunted by Laura? Apparently yes since the word thingy wrote IMPOSTOR...
Also i don't get the Bride of Frankenstein... I am assuming since in the background there's the sign where Sam takes a wrong turn and she is carrying the book Frankenstein that a new game will feature someone getting lost in a similar manner reading Bride of Frankenstein? Maybe a guy? But since this game came out after a million years i doubt we'll know anytime soon.

Spoiler:
Yeah, the pacing was off at the end, but I guess the investigation part was over when Sam realized it was Angela. David might as well have an academic interest in Angela so he doesn't want her to die, except that, she looks half crazy and mentally ill, it's hard to believe she is a cold blooded killer deserving death. Laura did haunt David because she couldn't pass on knowing (somehow) about the accident and Angela...so she tried to communicate and help him. At least, it could be explained that way
As for the bride, I'm at loss myself...was it just lucky wind that turned the signs at the road at the intro or was it something else? Even after accidentally getting to the house, what happened to the original assistant? ...

Spoiler:
Well yeah, but i still don't get the whole elaborate plot with the track, swimming poll, gymnasium etc. I guess Alice wanted to be David's Laura? So why do the those stunts at all? Or was is supposed to be an accident? I mean she was doing fine with the whole Laura routine... I mean what was her plan? Was her plan to be causing havoc with the experiments? What was the purpose of the whole thing?
and that's another thing... I don't know what's Laura and whats Alice. I know the messages in the isolation machine are Laura, the words thingy. But is Sam sighting Laura or Alice? I still don't understand what she did, and how she did it... I mean you go into the tower and find a chair, so what was she sitting there doing magic? We never also get told the extent of Alice's power. Except the electricity and fire things.
On another note, i kinda thought the first assistant wasn't important, since Laura wanted Sam to come, to help David sort his shit out. But then i got thinking she must have gone home and told someone she didn't take the job. So either it's a plot hole, or she's dead somewhere. I thought the house was haunted by Laura only. Hell maybe it was even Alice than scared her off, cuz she didn't want anyone interfering with her plan...
But by the rate adventure games come out, we will know in about 10 years...Maybe...
Haven't finished it yet, just a couple of chapters in, but the story is getting really interesting. Now i get why people liked Gabriel knight (just played briefly in the old days), if the story is of that caliber... hmm i think i must get those games after this.
Loving the theme song:
It isn't the best adventure game, but I'm really liking the story and how it progresses.
