I mean the patch who is supposed to fix the lag is out in steam.Hope skidrow will crack the patch and fix everything.Scene f**ked up Black Ops...2 cracks from skidrow and one from reloaded non of them is fully working

Hey guys.
Just thought I'd see whether any of you guys get the same luck as a friend of mine and me.
Both got the usual shit installed on our pcs, but not full of virus' spyware etc.. itunes avast, the usual stuff.
All the usual random lag.
Smooth FPS then suddenly crappy jittering and genuinely SHIT gameplay.
Bout 1am this morning decided to disable everything on friends machine as last hope to see what else could be the cause other than badly coded game.
Managed to take his machine from hitching, stuttering AWEFUL fps to smooth silky no hitching gameplay.
Online works great for him now and apart from lag issues (servers) game runs perfect.
His machine was Win 7 64 Bit with an Nvidia 8800GT card

I know a lot of you are thinking "nothing special with this fix!" and you are right! A lot of you have probably already tried all this stuff in general testing to get the game smoother. Obviously there was some app or service running which was ruining his FPS.
Strange though that memory wasnt max and cpu wasnt spiking before going in game so not like it was evident from the start.
Anyway had an hour game afterwards and not a smidgen of slowdown, weird as fuck.
Let me know if anyone tried it and bring me the good / bad news.
Dont get your hopes up, but like me i was totally surprised that something so simple and normal in diagnosing problems which I missed first time round could have such a big effect on a badly coded game.
Side note, he plays all other shooters, new MOH BC2 etc etc with never a problem in framerate, so was really weird.[/quote]
NOTE
This will disable Antivirus etc, so its purely a testing to see if it makes a difference your end. You can then load MSCONFIG and click Normal startup to have everything as it was previously if nothing changes fps wise ingame.

Well I went ahead and killed all processes running (skype, msn, etc), no effect. I then disabled Microsoft Security Essentials and it actually made this game playable.
It was still a bit laggy, but the game was actually playable. So if you really care, and want to play, try disabling AV...

yep I have it installed and disabled the apple bs too. i'm sure it all helped but I really shouldn't have to be doing this for what is essentially a 2/3 year old engine / game lol

We decided to release this crackfix, because instead of removing the checks
that the protected executable does, Skidrow left all checks that steam
does in place. Since steam did a very poor job of protecting this game,
there are some serious performance issues on less powerful computers. On
one of our systems the difference in FPS was approximately 50%. Because
the game has a frame limiter in place, it is best noticeable on less
powerful PCs.
As a bonus we made it possible to play in zombie mode with our crack.
SKIDROW also released an enabler for this, but their crack crashes when
going back to menu.

Game runs fine after the patch. Sure, not as good as it should, but still very much playable.
