Just finished the SP, and I must say that I r disappoint.
Apart from the increased Michael Bay factor, there's some things that really annoyed me. Playing on Veteran, there are points that really just depend on luck (I'll give an example in the spoiler below). Also too much button bashing sequences for my taste, that fits on derpboxes I guess, but not on the PC. Most annoying however, is the amount of scripted shit. I mean, it's nothing new for CoD games, but the amount of scripted sequences is insane in this one 
Nothing more annoying than some Russian prick who won't fall over even with a whole clip emptied in his face because his scripted action hasn't finished.
Oh and yeah, graphically this definitely looks worse than MW2 on the PC. Most notably the textures are quite bad, which were a large part of what made MW2 acceptable to look at. Bullet penetration is also quite fucked up, a lot of surfaces that should be penetrable (and are in MW2) you can't shoot through. Should've gone with a newer, better engine Treyarch.
 Spoiler: | Getting to Steiner as Hudson in Rebirth @ Veteran = annoying as hell. Right on the last bend before the bridge, the tank turns left - after which you get a whole horde of soldiers rushing across the bridge, soldiers from the right out of/from behind a house, and a bunch of soldiers to the left up next to some factory building (who spawn out of thin fucking air as well). Literally as you make the bend you have to spam everything you have like crazy and hope you make it through - even if you take out everything that's close to you, the soldiers on the bridge are amazing marksmen just hipfiring you in the head while sprinting. I'm sure it's doable just fine on lower difficulty settings, but on Veteran the enemy accuracy (and the fact that they *all* shoot you, ignoring any fellow soldiers) is just too ridiculous to handle this properly :/
Another annoying example was the mission as Hudson just after you've taken out the comms tower for the Nova 6 complex. You go outside, down the catwalk and some dude with an RPG runs up to shoot out the catwalk. I got there, spotted him running up, emptied a whole bloody clip but no, he *has* to shoot the catwalk. |
No, the SP is definitely not that great. Don't get me wrong, it's still CoD, and it feels tons better than all the crappy ports we've had, but the SP was not that great to me.
@ Djaoni: you do when you're a complete tool like fugazi who buys a new one whenever NVIDIA brings out a new one

To be honest, I thought the single player campaign was the best out of all CoDs. No, really. I don't get the whining about the graphics, it looks a lot better than MW2, especially the models- for instance the mission where Reznov (it's not a spoiler, you meet him on the first mission) talks to you in the cave. You can see the sweat on his face and all that. The gore is a nice touch.
And the multi- I'm having a blast. So far there are no "RRRAAAGE" maps like there were in MW2(Wasteland), though Jungle seems to be a map made for snipers.
