Just to let you know as we have a same spec pc prob but the ram make I guess, after the browser patch and dual/quad core first run at optimization - it has made MP playable now all I get at this moment which is probably server tweaking needed is when masses are in same area with shit tons of nades going off etc you might get a hiccup at times.
But it is right now as I would of expected it to be on release.. Not that major stutter fest it was before.
My frames in game at my monitor rez x4AA is between 45 and 65 with vsyn on, can see it rise to 95 in places and even more depending on map with vsync off..
Wow, this COD actually tried to tell a story. Must say its quite an improvement over the travesty that was MW2. The twist at the end was really awesome... I could only half guess it and if you pay attention to the dialogue it makes a lot of sense. I'm really happy about the SP campaign, it had quite a lot of variety and cool moments plus the music was nice too except for the shitty rapping in the credits.
Btw, the SP ran silky smooth for me. No lag or anything except for stuttering during a video once and thats it.
Having updates drivers all of the stuttering disappeared. The performance is perfect here on HD4850 with maxed details too. The storytelling is indeed great. The only problem I have is that the gameplay sort of sucks. The difficulty on veteran isn't challenging, it's plain retarded. The enemies respawn faster than I can possible fire, they are extremely accurate and fast too, whereas my teammates are plain retarded. The only way to stop respawning is to advance which is a suicide most of the time as you die in 2 shots(enemies empty their entire clip the second they see you with perfect accuracy). I raged quite hard plenty of times and obliterated snacks which I had prepared for the gaming session

There is no connect command in the console as far as I know. You are probably trying to use the server admin connect command, that's why it's asking for the password.
It's all about the experience, not the graphics...
If taken as an interactive movie this CoD isn't that bad, it has a Michael Bay-esque aftertaste and a fast brainless pace, the problem is that gameplay wise there are some "small" gaps to be filled

i`ve finished SP campaign without any major problems, of course performance could be better but fuck that, it wasnt THAT bad. Ive played multi for around 12h and after some tweaks here and there (and finding good server) game runs almost great (i have 3-4 sec freeze in menu when i exit the match).
I`m waiting for some major patch (seems that small one helped a little but obviously game requires more fixnig). Anyway multi is playable and i fucking enjoy it, FAMAS ftw.

I haven't completed it yet (for obvious reasons), but the SP campaign is really weak. For the most of the time I don't know why I'm here or there and it's just bland. Somehow MW2 managed to be more entertaining with the same tricks/explosions.
If you listen to the cutscenes then they give you a few clues... also everything comes together towards the end of the game.
* - GPU hitching on certain graphics cards.
* - Incomplete server browser results.
* - Improvements to Quickmatch joins (results with better ping and reduced lag).
* - Zombies “The game session is no longer available” error.
