Not a biggy, but anyone now how to take off the meter at the bottom right and the FPS stuff at the top right?

I find 'em a little annoying.

Find cg_drawFPS in the config file and put it to zero.

Meh, i've seen too many random nube tubes kills to actually be impressed. Let me tell you about my kill that one time at the band camp. My intellimouse is sometimes clicking by itself, its a common bug in some of the microsoft mouses. So i (it) shot my unscoped sniper rifle with nobody in sight. And got a kill ! In BC2 !

That explains why it works like shit.

The problem is that WaW ran flawless for me, with no stuttering whatsoever or anything else

But this is the case for Black Ops too, some people claim they get perfect 60 fps gameplay even systems that are somewhat outdated.

And as far as I know WaW had erratic performance too, at least on my system, and there are benchmarks that confirm this:

Some comments here from an old face off: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/call-of-duty-world-at-war-triple-format-face-off-article?page=3

And most importantly take a look here: http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,666889/Call-of-Duty-5-World-at-War-Graphics-cards-benchmark-review/Reviews/?page=2

At 1680x1050, 4x MSAA, 16x AF, the 8800GT that was released exactly 1 year before the game (and it was still considered a very good card) ran WaW at min: 18 fps and avg: 29.8, which is pretty bad IMO.

I mean 18-30 fps isn't that great for such a card, that runs MW2: http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,699312/Modern-Warfare-2-Graphics-card-benchmarks-of-the-latest-Call-of-Duty/Practice/ with identical settings at min: 32 and avg: 51.3 fps!!

Can you believe it, MW2 runs faster than WaW! And now they "enhanced" their WaW engine, making it even worse.

*sigh* So because BO is pretty much exclusively an updated version of the WaW engine, the chances of getting a performance fix are sounding very slim... Bah! WaW ran absolutely fine for me, if memory serves, but this one is horrid.

Not really. Just because it's another engine updates doesn't make it less likely to get patched.

The thing is since IW doesn't provide technical support/assistance/documentation, anything! for their engine to Treyarch, I wouldn't be surprised if Treyarch doesn't know what they did wrong and how to fix it.

They fucked up the PS3 version too, Black Ops runs at 960x544, not much better than.. 800x600 Very Happy http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-call-of-duty-black-ops-faceoff All previous CoD games ran at the same resolution on both 360 and PS3 (1040xsomething).

It's obvious that they have some very bad coders, or that they don't understand IW's CoD4 engine at all since they didn't write it themselves and they have received 0 help from IW from the very beginning of developing WaW.

That's sad indeed, also considering that Black Ops isn't even as visually impressive as MW2 (in terms of textures definition and shaders). Though the main problem for me isn't related to the low framerate per se, but rather to the unexplainable constant stuttering that plagues the game cyclically every 2-3 seconds, which wasn't present in WaW and makes the game completely unplayable. No no, I wasn't talking about not getting any patches.. but if this is the same kind of performance and quality that WaW was (for the majority of people) then it stands to reason they obviously don't know HOW to fix it. Otherwise they'd have learned from their experience with WaW, right?

I dunno, I'm probably just being defeatist Very Happy

Sure thing! Come fly over and pick it up <3 In all seriousness, there's definitely something wrong with the PC version .. especially visually. From what I saw of the PC one, the 360 is significantly better looking Sad

I bought it online from steam..... easier, Europe Euro price was 59 euro... lol, uk price 38 i think? got someone to buy in uk and gift me the game, saved a bit.....

However played a good hour or two today and maybe those cpu settings and gpu settings helped because i enjoyed it more this time round though still got hitching in places, its weird.

Also i logged into the nforce server and favourited it. nobody on there though Sad

You have to leave the server page listing in alphabetical and wait like 3 minutes as it loads about 5000 servers then suddenly it appears... Odd.

btw guys is there way how to make SKIDROW version into steam ? and where i can get cheap ENG key pls

Re the key good luck on that one.

However once you have pushed the key into steam and it starts downloading. Pause both downloads... Quit steam, and move the Skidrow install into the Steam\steamapps\common name of black ops directory... Then load steam back up

Right click on both games (single player and multiplayer) and goto properties and validate game data... It then downloads a small 5meg file for each version and then you are good to go. Without having to grab the full release again from steam Smile

Hope that helps!

I have absolutely no problems with World at War and never have had. On the other hand, Black Ops stutters here a lot.

Is there any kind of fix yet?

Tempted to try the full config file mentioned on previous pages, if I go and change my vid options afterwards though, does that essentially negate all the changes in that file? or are those hidden from the standard gfx menu ingame?
