and once again for good luck;

Even the fucking console versions have the same problem. PS3 and 360 versions shipping without the promo codes to redeem the expanded content or, in some cases, the promo code only activates half of the listed DLC and the rest is set to "unauthorised" What the hell is this shit?

Tyrone: Hi, my name is Tyrone. How may I help you?
sabin1981@: hi!
sabin1981@: I HOPE you can help me
Tyrone: Please go ahead
sabin1981@: I recently purchased Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for the PC and downloaded it via EADM. The 20-digit installation/registration key is there and it worked to activate the game and register it on BioWare's social site ... but you didn't give me the 16-digit DLC/Promo key!
sabin1981@: the game is installed and all the promo/expanded content is locked and set to "unauthorised"
sabin1981@: I've checked EVERY part of the your support site and I have tried every option you have listed. None of it works and it will never work because it's not a glitch, you just didn't give me the promo key to authorise the expanded content.
Tyrone: May I have some information to investigate the issue?
Your Email Address:
Your Date of Birth as mentioned in the EA account :
Apart from this please provide me the DLC code

sabin1981@: I can't give it to you because I don't HAVE IT!
sabin1981@: You didn't give it to me!
Tyrone: Could you pleHello,
Tyrone: Thank you for writing to Electronic Arts customer support.
Tyrone: I would like to inform you that the game is release on 1st June, 10 AM PST. I hope you already downloaded the game and enjoying it. If the game is not downloaded then please provide us the order number. Happy playing. ^^
Tyrone: If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know.

Tell me about it Very Happy I stayed on the line and he eventually came back and starting talking again, he gave me a bunch of individual codes to register on BioWare Social and now they're all activated and showing as authorised.

See kiddies? THIS is why DRM/DLC is bad, mmkay? So much hassle to go through just to play your legally purchased content. The moral of the story is; PIRATE THE FUCKING LOT Laughing

So now that it's all working and ready; does anyone know the ideal playing order for the content? Most of it loads via the "Other Campaigns" menu and, according to the readme blurb, brings "powerful rewards into Origins or Awakening"

-edit-

Ah.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/dragonage/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-56875695&pid=950918

Origins->Awakening->Golems of Amgarrak->Witch Hunt

Darkspawn Chronicles can be played at any time, since it's an "alternate world" type game. Leilana's Song can be played before Origins or before Awakening. Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar are part of the Origins timeline, so they go with Origins. Got it Very Happy

EA is very friendly and quick with support but their tech section and online distribution service still has a long way to go, compared to Crysis and other early adaptors to EADM it's vastly improved but still lose out to the competition from say Impulse and Steam.
(Gamersgate is sort of different since they don't use a client and other stuff so not comparable, Steam is a bit more than a download client as well though but more compatible when comparing, Valve tech support I've not had to deal with so can't compare there.)

Does it work on Ultimate Edition though? The reason I asked for a "working" one is because the old dedaodrm says "invalid DLC" due to the location of AddIns being changed in Ultimate Edition. AddIns is now located in the actual game folder, not MyDocs. Sad

-edit-

Nope. Still says "Invalid DLC" when ran in the AddIns folder.

You should be able to just move the DLC to whichever of those two folders as a temporary workaround, should work then. Smile

Aye, I'm moving them from game folder to MyDocs now, see if that works.

I was going to, but reports on BioWare forum show that people have tried it (like we once did) and all it does is remove the authorisation message, the items don't actually "work" Sad

@sabin

Did you try running daorigins.exe as admin ? It fixed the 'DLCs unauthorised' problem for me.

Thank you BOTH JBeckman and Bendi; it was a joint effort Very Happy Moved the addins to MyDocs and then ran the decrypter, which worked perfectly =) No more authorisation bullshit and all the content works just fine.

Thank you both!! <3

I always run my games as admin, mate.

So I've decided I want my final game to be with me in a romance with Morrigan and joining her at the end of Witch Hunt.

I was able to set the romance flag on in the epilogue save from Origins for Morrigan. Now I just have to play through Awakenings, Golems, and Witch hunt again.

ugh.

Yes, turns out the "Ultimate Edition" doesn't really have the DLC included. We have to use codes to download them off the internet Laughing so no group would like to basically re-release the same game which is already available again.

That's not entirely accurate.... You DO need to use the code to authenticate them, but they also DO come as part of the Ultimate Edition (on the DVD). I got all the DLC with my copy of UE without having to download them, I just needed to add the promo code to my BioWere profile before they could work.

... and they only worked for a DAY before returning to "unauthorised" status. Go piracy! Fix the shit LEGITIMATE players have to suffer through Rolling Eyes

You're wrong yuri999. UE have all DLC's included on DVD. You don't need to download anything. You only need redeem code on Bioware social sh...t.
