I bought a GTX 295 a few weeks ago to run some benchmarks. I also did some gaming with the card and everything was fine (awesome card). I sold the card on ebay for like $300 to a guy. Shipped the card out on October 25th 2010. Everything was fine until yesterday this guy sends me an e-mail telling me hes seeing artifacts.... WTF?
I told him maybe its his power supply but apparently hes using a 850w. But hes also using windows XP x64 with the latest nvidia drivers. Could it be the operating system?
Theres no fucking way I can refund his money because I already invested it all into something else. I also stated in the auction that I wont accept any returns.
He said the shipping box looked a little fucked up when he got it. I always pack my items up extremely well and never had a problem. I shipped a GTX 480 to fucking australia and it made it there no problem so wtf!? I have 100% positive feedback and this motherfucker is gonna fuck my shit up probably!!! FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sell things very often and I wouldn't risk my ebay reputation for 1 fucking item. It was working beautifully when it was in my comp. Played Crysis Warhead and the card was amazing. Even the load temperatures were low.
Problem is I purchased it second hand and I can't give him the info to RMA it because I dont have the info the original seller used to register the card with EVGA

You should state hardware is "as is", and since your auction did in fact say no returns, he's fucked. Most that'll happen is paypal will give him money back but I doubt it being 300 dollars.
but ya, ebay is the last place you want to deal with. The scammers and all, it's going ot shit, your better off using amazon.

I didn't scam him though. The card was working fine. If it was fucked up i would have contacted the guy that I bought it from immediately and ask him wtf. But it was working perfectly

He sounds like he might not be a noob. His 1st message that he sent me yesterday:
"hey Sam, got the video card ok, but have had issues with funny characters in the video. I reinstalled the os and even tried a different computer but no luck. Do you have the warranty info on this card. So i can get an RMa going?"
I then contacted him and told him Im trying to contact the guy I bought it from and in the meanwhile I suggested it might be his power supply since it was working perfectly in my computer.
His 2nd message that he sent me yesterday:
"Hello Sam and thanks for all the info. I have an asus extreme II mb with Corsair memeory and a thermaltake 850 watt ps. It runs a 930 and a coolit cooling sytem. It had a 260 in it previoulsy and it worked good. I have also tried a ASROCK x58 extreme mb that I also had new out of the box with a new processor and Patriot memory and get the same problem. The box did show some damage, but I am not sure if it effected the card or not. I build systems often and used the latest drivers from nvidia and evga. I have also tried customer support for both just to make sure I was not missing something. The os is xp x64. feel free to call me if you think we might be able to work this out ove the phone some way. ***-****-****"

That I dont know. I for one, I didn't overclock the card while it was here. I basically used it for less than a week so I saw no point in overclocking

To be honest you said no returns, so its tough shit really.
Its why I never buy expensive stuff on Ebay

ya you posted no returns, did you put as is? Otherwise you took the money out from paypal right? Either way I'd say he's the one who's fucked, not you. I find when I sell things on Ebay that people don't even give me a positive review anymore, they way they changed their rating system. I've sold 5 games recently (PS3) and not one of the assholes gave me a any review of any kind. Yet as soon as they paid I gave them one... Fuckheads. Oh and I never sell or buy outside of my own Country, that tends to lead to trouble, especially with shipping and they way they are transported.

All my auctions state:
"Return policy
The seller will not accept returns for this item."
I already took the money out of Paypal yes. I have full control of the money. Its not the money Im worried about though, its the review/feedback. If he says that I sold him a broken item, nobody will buy anything from me anymore.
I know theres a time limit where if you don't recieve a feedback by a certain amount of time after the end of the auction, the buyer can no longer leave you a feedback.

Maybe just for selling things perhaps, but otherwise he'd lose any rating he already has... And not many would buy from someone with no rating, lol

Thats true. I have 1 account for buying and 1 account for selling. The one that I sell things with has a lot of reviews. All positive...until now probably

Another option send him the invoice of the purchase so he can claim warranty himself after all he might be telling the truth.

Let him leave a negative feedback. You can usually do a seller response. 1 negative review isn't going to hold it's own against a bunch of positive.

Are you sure hes not scamming you, have you confirmed the damage? It is quite a common practice to claim a stolen camera to get insurance refund, the internet works the same. Did you run a benchmark before you send it which you saved, as proof that you send a working product? These things are very important! Although I sympathyse with your situation you did not take the proper precautions in my opinion. I also believe you can still RMA the card even though it has been registered on someone elses name. The RMA is connected to the GPU, not the consumer, therefor the RMA should be in effect if the expiration date has not been reached. Contact the cards manufacturer and use the code printed on the card to confirm you are in possession of it. If they claim the card has been registered to a different person and it might be stolen show the proof that you bought it off that very person.
You still have many ways to get things fixed, just make sure you try all options and that you arent being scammed.
Good luck.

The card is by EVGA. Theyre assholes when it comes to warranty

No returns means just that..No returns..Tell him you are SOL. If he posts negative, file complaint to ebay about it. If he fights with paypal, fight back. I would not sweat it. Ebay is still #1 is selling stuff. Majority of people there are legit.
I would just respond stating" due to possibilty of improper installation and possible OC, this is why I stated no returns"..and leave it as that.

I found out (through paypal history) the name of the guy I purchased the card from. I sent the name to my customer, and haven't from him since. The customer has my phone number. He didn't leave me a feedback yet (just dont want a negative one) but hopefully I never hear from him again
