They finally did it. Leave it to the scumbag judges in New York to shut down Limewire. Anything else out there?

theres always something else, I'm glad they shut it down.
Kazaa Lite K++ is probably still going, imesh was always the better of the file sharring programs if it's still what it used to be.
there will always be direct connect hubs, IRC servers, usenet, torrents.
Frostwire I think is still going.
this one is open source
http://aresgalaxy.sourceforge.net/
[edit]Frostwire and imesh share the same fate as the rest, all "legal" running now.
Ares and Kazaa Lite K++ Still seem to be going

This. If you absolutely HAVE to use a direct music client, then Frostwire is passable. After Limewire was bought out, the original devs left and created Frostwire as a free alternative .. and yeah, it's still going strong even now. Is WinMX still going?

Direct Connect will always have a special place in my heart. I used to run one of the top hubs in the states a few years back. One of my main guys had 6 servers setup with just about every movie/game release around (this was before bluray), his share size I think was close to 6TB
Ah some of those LUA scripts for hub games were a blast too

haha most of the share requirements were set by hub admins cause we didn't like leechers coming in without sharing shit. There WAS a way to share dummy files to up your share limit so I had a few "staff" members that were always around checking peoples shares to make sure they weren't trying to pull one off haha. I think I only had a 5gb share limit

Why wouldn't anyone use Frostwire instead ? It's the same network, right ?
And it's freeware.
