It seems Treyarch sucks at optimizing. Their World at War also run like shit (on my machine, IMO, don't rage Razz)

guess they didn't expect ppl still having p4's with x1600pro's to run new games Cool Face

I actually ran both MW1 and MW2 on a P4 3ghz, 1gb RAM and Radeon 9800XT. Worked quite alright actually. Low resolution though.

Same crap as 50% of the other people here; horrid performance and constant stuttering, plus something about it just looks "off" compared to the 360 version :\ Definitely NOT the same detail levels, IMO. Ah well... I've already finished the campaign on the 360 so I'm in no rush to try and troubleshoot the PC one, or wait for the inevitable patch deluge. I may not even buy the game, certainly not until it's proven that patches fix the shitty issues.

Shame too, as World at War ran like a dream.

(oh and yes; I tried changing the settings for MultiGPU and Multithreaded... no difference)

Stuttering seems to be a DirectX issue. Installed the game and played the first level. No stuttering at all, but I had a weird red and green glow around my body and the npc mates. I installed the DirectX update that came with the skidrow-.iso and since then I have the stuttering aswell, but the glowing effect went away. Dunno what's more disturbing.

Edit: Game doesn't like alt+tab much Razz

I run the latest directX right and i just checked the dx pack on legit resources folder for game and latest is june 2010, think there has been 2 updated since then.

Anyway I didnt expect it but i run the installer from the game for directX and it DID copy files over, that means with directX that it was filling in missing files from earlier releases that might be needed, ive read about this before and sometimes it will update files that should be there and are not.

Worth a go anyhow ill see if it makes improvements.. cause right now they need to pull the old finger out and start fixing Very Happy

any of you tried to use exe and other shit form the earlier crack ?
i'm talking about the archied stuff used primarily on the russian image (you can find it on rlslog in the older clone thread/news thingy)

i used the russian image and it worked like a charm , no stuttering , nothing
the only glitch that i had was in the sr71 blackbird after alt-tabbing i couldnt control jack shit and had to kill the process , but aside from that it was smooth sailing

I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of this recycled shit every year. The campaign is new, the story is new but gameplay same as cod2,3,4,5,6. Engine is the same, levels are very linear, AI is ultra dumb. I really can't understand why is everyone so exited about this. If it was the first or second expansion - OK, but when they throw the same shit at you for the 5th or 6th time it's getting a little boring.

the problem isnt the crack. I have friends who bought the game, and it's unplayable for them and stutter like hell like disk accesses.

I checked both versions, the russian clone dvd and the skidrow one, and with the clone dvd i had major issues especially concerning the cutscenes and some other particular scenes from the beginning. Then i 'swapped' it for the skidrow's one and all stuttering/major slowdown problems were gone. At least over here so it might be crack related but it isn't because legal owners have issues too well i don't understand Razz

the legit version from steam, update my directX files so that might be one of the issues and also dont forget to turn V-sync off.

runs great for me with max settings @ 1920x1080.
I played about 2 hours on the SP campaign, then played a couple hours online, online there is some lag when the servers fill up but other than that its great.

I am really loving this game, I liked MW1 sp campaign, and I loved WAW online, but hated all of MW2 but black ops feels like the best of them all put into one.

I think this is with the game engine itself. Just tried it on an ATI Radeon 5870 and got frame skipping and low GPU usage as well with COD:BO.

There u go , it's the engine

If it really is an engine problem it will probably be a pian in the ass to fix.

Great job Treyarch and Activision. Sad
