Q: Is FOV changeable in the pc version?.
A: Yes it is. The last time I looked at it personally you could take it to 80.

If you've purchased a server through GameServers.com
The RCON server tool is available on Steam now. You can edit and modify your server now.
How to:
Relog Steam
Click on Library and then Tools
Call of Duty Black Ops - Remote Console will be there
Run it and edit your server!

I just took a peek at the game. To be fair, that scene where the posted screen is from didn't look all that much better for me at 1080p 4xAA with maxed details (those I found in the options anyway). The next daylight location looks a little better, but it's pretty much your usual MW graphics the way I see it.
What's odd is performance. It was pretty crappy: I got as low as 30 FPS during that first mission at times. Quite unexpected considering the level of detail (running on a 5870 here). Something's off for me, it seems.

Fortunately, it isn't just you. People who have i7 systems posting on the Steam forums are having the same exact issues.

Thanks for the info, I guess we'll have to see how this plays out.
Anyways, don't know if this has been posted here already, but to break free from the chair on the PC (like it was shown on the videos posted here) you need to hold the jump button. Didn't look around much myself, just tried it out, it's time to go offline anyways...

Btw with russian cd key you can set MP game language to English
Fov is changable. Only thing it does is changes the gun view. There is no additional view as per se, so you dont actually see more.
Game is really fun and maps are really clean, so it is real easy to spot someone and hard to lame camp.

I´m assuming the game must be unlocked in his region, otherwise he couldn´t change the language.

Delete local game content and try to redownload. Its missing the english zone

I've been following the thread on the Steam forums about the unplayable lag in menus etc.
Apparently, Steam.exe is to blame, with 30-50% CPU usage. Sounds like there's some activation or profile integration with Steam which is dying under the mountain of players. Hopefully it'll sort itself out once people have activated, or it will be patched ASAP. But basically, it doesn't look like it's the game itself causing the problem.
Also, those Australians who managed to activate earlier didn't get any lag, which leads me to believe this.
