Yes, it's the piracy, but it's also consumer mentality. PC gamers are, for the sake of keeping it short, more "hardcore". They have different expectations than console gamers in these aspects length, quality, challenge, originality. PC users don't TEND to like buying an upgrade package to a game yearly, sold in a different name also at full price, marketed as a full game. We have a differing consumer culture, because we are used to epic RPGs, that take 60 hours to finish at least, and require some actual thoughts (as an example).
They are not successful on the PC market, because what they can GET AWAY WITH on the consoles, they can't yet shove down our throats.
The reason they make so much money on consoles, is because they match the game length in such a way, as to offer the same amount of entertainment for the same amount of money, as a movie. Movie=7$ for ~1.5 hours; game=50$ for 8-12 hrs. In europe, where I live, it's worse, I watch a 3d movie (which I don't, btw, because that sucks balls) in good quality for around 4 euros, in game time that would be the equivalent of 19 hours, yet with a modern console game, I'd get 8-12.
This is what as PC game consumers, we are above, and won't accept. That is why: 1. we don't buy 2. we pirate if we consider it overpriced.
Suck my cock, fucking publishers with your fucking lies.

JFYI. Some people on the official board claimed they were able to activate their German version and are playing it.

nice, same for my royal edition.
high five!
I must admit though I didn't even know this game would be so good until maybe a week or two ago. I never really bothered checking because two worlds 1 was so.. average.
once I read about it a bit I just went straight ahead and preordered. can't wait!
I'm even resisting the temptation to download the 360 version right now...

I didn't really anticipate this launch, could anyone tell me how combat is expected to be? Reactive, like Risen or g1&2 or no block, button smash like ... not flaming here ... Divinity 2?

Luckily I have no time to play the game anyway, so 'resisting' the temptation isn't that hard.
I just work a bit harder so I can get the work out of the way so I have time to play, when the game actually gets here
Though the pc version is a fair bit nicer looking according to that guy on the gamestar video.

Well weapons have reach distance and speed, so you need to be in range. You and AI block and blocking had direction too, like attacking. I'd say better than Risen, but haven't played this, so hard to know.

Not really that I'm aware. But there was some co-op interview, few pages back should have them.

Yes, but you have to go a few pages back, don't remember where exactly I read about it ^^ However it was not a detailed analysis..

Is there anywhere I can purchase a digital copy of this game that will be available tomorrow? Or preferably at midnight?

As far as i know the answer is, "nope"... From what i have read on official forums there are no digital versions available until the 2011 US release (but that may change in the coming weeks just due to the games popularity)
