Here I was hoping I could sneak in some early playtime by logging on my VPN, logging on I found out they have 20 hours instead of our 12. Guess I need an Aussie VPN instead.

So even the disk version just downloads the 8gig single player mode and the 8gig MP mode... WTF whats the point of the disk version.

For me it would be better that PC version is digital only release. Discs are just useless because the game is using Steam anyway.
Because of that you can activate your game as soon as possible, no delivery waitings and maybe assholes at Activison could cut the price because they don't need to waste money on (PC) discs and other crap.

so im gonna order this game, i have the whole week off of work
i was thinking best to buy from steam since they are in control of unlocking of hte game and what not but anyone know how to get a discount? its pretty shitty I have to pay pull price and I dont get a disc, or a box....

Aparently the box says internet required, my mate just tried to install it from the disk from game.co.uk and it just downloaded it off steam, not unlocked yet of course.

Direct2Drive or GAME.co.uk? Both are offering download version.

Then force installation from disk. It's actually a common bug.

It won't let you install from the DVD until it's unlocked, but you can pre-load from Steam once you activate the key though.
So might as well pre-load if it's not an issue, should get you faster in the game once it's unlocked... Copying files form the DVD will take time, I imagine. Of course it should be possible to copy the files form the DVD manually instead of pre-loading (if you manage to extract them).
Not sure if it's possible to force Steam to start the install from the DVD before the release date...
