Hey guys
Please convince me to keep playing this game.
In fact, I tried playing Ego Draconis 2 months ago but stopped after 2 or 3 hours of gameplay.
I liked social part of the game but the thing that bothered me is the combat system. Hack 'n Slash I can do with but I found that ennemies were horribly unbalanced. I remember being level 6 and getting my ass kicked numerous times when fighting against three or four level 7 mobs...
The worst thing is that I tried lowering the difficulty to easy and while it helped somewhat, its was still hard.
Now of course, when using guerrila tactics I managed to kill the bastards but it took me some time...
2nd question, I saw there was an option to play the original game when starting The Dragon Knight Saga. Is the original game unchanged or do I get all the new updates that come with the expansion ?

Nobody can convince you to keep playing. That's your choice. All people can do is tell you whether they like the game and then you play it and decide if you like it.
Yes the combat is simplistic but for some reason I don't mind it. Which is surprising because the simplistic combat is what I loathed about The Witcher.
I like the wide range of items you can find. Reminds me of Diablo in ways (just how items are named,sets, how they work, etc)
I don't mind the 30fps lock unlike some. I've got a shit system so it's not going much higher than that anyway. Some of the animations are a little clunky but overall the graphics are pretty decent.
As far as the difficulty - don't get in over your head. As far as I can tell, enemies don't scale to your level like some games. You stated that you were level 6 but had a hard time when fighting three or four enemies that were level 7. Why does that not make sense to you? Horribly unbalanced? Hardly. Not only were you fighting an enemy that was a level higher than you, you were fighting multiple enemies. You *SHOULD* have had a hard time with it. You can't blame the game for you getting in over your head. Fight's too tough? Turn around and come back later. Personally I've found the balance to be pretty decent. Other than the initial areas with the level 1 creatures I've found it neither too hard nor too easy - just right.

I haven't use a bow yet since I'm trying to play with mostly magic. Do you have to buy/find/make arrows or is it some sort of unlimited thing? I've got some school things to finish up so won't be playing for a few days but was curious about that.

After 2 hours of  Spoiler: | trying to keep that goddamn zeppelin in the air I finally did it!
Finished the addon, did not let Beliarewhat'shisname out ( I just loved his whiny "waaait" when he realised I wasn't gonna do it ), got revenge on Ygerna for forced crystalization, done all quests. Took me like 25-30h, which is not bad at all.

If they manage to make Divinity 3 as fun to play as Flames of Vengeance it's going to be a definite buy.

ok so i got this and im still getting the micro stutters, and it seems to happen when i'm moving around. guess it wasnt really fixed, even with the half assed 30 fps "fix"

Generally this is a really good game, I approve that they've kept combat really hard, yet rewarding, kiting a level 14 NPC around as level 7 gave me quite an XP boost when I killed it

game keeps minimizing to desktop, and cutscenes are a little to much to the right of the picture. read Larian forum, and noone else seems to have the problem.. any of you?

Not seen any issues with the game so far like that, or even anything to make it look like its fubard here... 
Minimizing to desktop seems rather odd to be honest, have you got something trying to grab focus of an app all the time maybe? Maybe some weird ass macro shit going on for something else? |

Ah on a diff note, is there some reason you need comodo and norton etc? both are generally overkill and cause more harm than good these days..
Your really better off with common sense and Microsoft security Essentials and a Router with Hardware Firewall.
Maybe post some basic specs, see if anything would stick out for others that notice sim issues later.. |

keeping it clean means not having norton antipc on it and comode piss pot running 
those specs of a rig should be just playing the game fine im sure, it will be some other fandangle shit you have installed maybe in past still resident and not behaving with that game itself.. You should eliminate ALL your gfx cards settings first though including fucking about with the scaling for res options and so forth.. ( maybe u have? )
Also ingame as mentioned before there is a option to tick to scale the UI with the desktop res.. try on and off with that to see if its something linked to gfx card scaling issues.. |

aha! it seems to be connected to the skill tree aswell in the game... active movie window shows nothing and then it minimizes

you have a very strange problem lol,, im guessing you have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of the game incase it was a some fubard cfg file?
Maybe try deleting the cfg's for the game itself ? maybe the profile file.
C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Profile
Edit: sorry have so many fucking rpg's installed my eyes have gone wonky |

ok getting closer. it didnt do anything, it minimizes and it wont show directshow issues. intro movie, loading icon animation.. and such. skill movies in bottom left corner.

Please verify your card drivers/audio drivers AND DirectX is upto date.. |

turn the desktop composition checkbox on for the shortcut start.. that solved any weird start up issues and crashing when changing res for me. |
