Who cares about kicking ass. This will force Sony and Nintendo to fight for costumers. Nintendo had a very easy path before. The DS looks cool, so does the PSP. Both are great products with different aproaches to gaming.

Easy path? I think no1 is actually recognising all the handhelds that came out. dont any of you guys remember the game gear? In the interview he's saying sony is trying something new and they are kinda. I still agree with nintendo saying that i dont wanna listen to music or watch movies on my portable handheld. when games like metroid and some RTS's come out the DS will own the PSP. it just can't compete with the free movement the touchscreen allows.

That is true, RTS games will be good on the handheld. But Gamegear was the biggest competition. Others tried but lacked support from developers.
But there are so many reasons why different costumers buy different things. I myself am only interested in 2 upcoming RTS games for now. They are AOE III and Wartime Command.
I will first decide which handheld to go first when I see how WE/PES plays on the DS and on the PSP and then decide. And ye, music stays on the ipod photo. Only cool extra thing with the PSP would be to watch TV-Rips or such. What games are you looking forward on the DS/PSP?

On the DS, castlevania, the new super mario, Zelda, metroid, kirby and james bond. i cant say i'm looking forward to any psp games because i know little about what's coming up or if they're any better than ps2 games.

Good, they would kill the DS if they were to release a new system, I'm glad to hear its not true, because it was pissing me off in terms of what Nintendo was thinking trying to compete with themselves.
Now they can focus on the DS, and hopefully make some innovative games with enough content to warrant a $30-40 purchase, because while I really like the ideas presented in Warioware and Yoshi's Touch and Go, I cant force myself to spend the cash for them knowing I will finish them in a hour or two.
