Not sure what to make of this. Is minecraft not enough work for notch?

I've found that the huge servers have waaay more disconnected areas. It's nice to have a big city, but then have open countryside to wander/explore. Then as the city gets built, expand slowly. Unless you are Spykez, then you just get to rebuild 124091613129871 times.

Notch isn't working on the new game from what I understand. It's his friend that's doing that. Notch is working on Minecraft and he's got a couple of people to help him now. At least that's what I thought from the news I had read.

And garus dang nabbit, upgrade the server to the latest version already!

If he is tired of running the server, I would be more than happy to. I can't guarantee the same stability that his server has though, as my Unix box doesn't like it's guts anymore (dead mobo ftl) so I'm running the server that I have on Winblows 7 x64

He's actually started two companies, one to handle Minecraft and his personal indie-stuff and another studio to make commercial games.

In my opinion it's not worth playing unless he fixes the multiplayer, I don't even play it right now and I used to play it for HOURS every day.
