I could argue that i specifically said that i do not question their bad experiences with kinect in any way and that i was trying to find the problem elsewhere because of the many contradictionary reviews but whats the use? You'll still think you made a valid point in that post... but enough of that, can't we all just be friends
@grapper
yeah there is definitely some lag visible in that video, but i think that would be ok during gameplay, for me at least. But again of course not for any "real" game like fallout, but there will never be a good way to play those games without any peripheral.
however I will get myself raped by ms here, I already got raped by nintendo when I bought the WII for 250€ which is also basically a gimmick in my opinion (except for maybe 3-4 games I really like) and this one will hurt less
And of course there is also this guys balanced review:

and @bringiton and grapper who actually have something valuable to say
I have something valuable to say, in that you know nothing about Kinect except what you pick up from "reviews"* -- Bringiton and Grapper have both used the device and they stated their experiences. You basically called them both liars by claiming "many people love it and say there's nothing wrong with it" My simple reply is; just because people "love it" doesn't mean jack shit. People love Twilight and I'm pretty sure anyone who isn't a tween bitch and/or mentally retarded pretty much agrees Twilight is shite and a bane on the source material.
I'd rather believe two people whom I've had daily dealings with, repeatedly, than some reviewer paid by MS to write glowing praise. Hell, even the VIDEOS we've seen of Kinect in action shows it to be one big clusterfuck of a broken mess. Ah well, if you're willing to pay $150 to get raped, I'd be happy to oblige and I'll even do it for $100. Save you $50. Though I can't promise it won't be as painful as if you'd taken the more expensive option
*note; the same applies to me I know nothing about it either, except what I see from vids of it in action and testaments from people I talk with daily.
Kinect is Microsoft’s biggest push for the Xbox gaming division to date. The Xbox division could sink or swim depending on the success of the device. However, in an unusual move the company has been hesitant to send out the device for review.
Many journalists in the gaming industry have complained about Microsoft’s hesitation to send the Kinect and any of its software offerings for review. This is actually something that has been actively talked about on game press forums.
In addition the publisher has also placed an embargo on posting any sort of review for the device prior to launch. Microsoft’s internal anti piracy investigation group has also issued a take-down notice to Destructoid, who incidentally made fun of the Kinect’s new commercials.
The fact that Microsoft is being so sensitive about any sort of criticism towards the device is a major concern. Just like how film studios won’t hold a pre-screening for movies that is expected to tank, the video game industry operates exactly the same way.

Typically its a very bad sign when publishers do this as it means that there is something wrong and the company wants to rely on ignorance and marketing rather than letting the public find out early. I am not saying this is the case for the Kinect, but it is very concerning nevertheless.
PS4, Xbox 720 will automatically use Move, Kinect - Ubisoft
Quote:
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot doesn't want to speculate whether Move or Kinect will win the new motion control battle, but he expects both to be alive and kicking when the next generation of home consoles arrives.
"I think it will be very interesting to see what happens in the US and Europe," he told MCV. "I don't like to say who will win, but I think one will win in one territory and one in the other." We guess he means Move in Europe and Kinect in the US.
Ubisoft was quick to announce support for both following their announcements, and Guillemot sees the investment in the new motion control devices as a long-term one that will span console generations.
"... It's not just an investment in this generation, it's building the next one too," he said. "The next generation of console will automatically use all of these motion-sensing innovations and so a lot more people will be able to play with the next generation of consoles."
Sony has said that Move sold 1.5 million units in Europe in its first month of availability, while Microsoft expects to shift three million Kinects over the holiday season.
You might still not like the concept of kinect but this at least looks very responsive and almost lag free
Also check out part 3 -> joyride and your shape at the end, your shape seems to have no lag whatsoever
Does that shit really go for an hour like is stated in the summary? If so, it could possibly be worse than actually playing some of those kinect games for real.
The world's first Kinect review has appeared in today's London Evening Standard newspaper - giving the accessory a full five stars and a glowing recommendation.
So, Kinect is out, right? Does anybody here have it already? Did they really manage to reduce the lag on the games?
I would really love some feedback. It's not like I am going to buy this, but still, I want to know if MS managed to turn this into a playable product...

yeah it's awesome, it feels like beeing in a real boat ....
No mate thats too much, even for me
I don't even know who the target demographic for this is, I mean the boat game is just one part of adventures and it probably isn't that much fun anymore after 10 runs
Lag fest , it is responsive but theirs one helluva noticable delay . Was the game where your driving on a little platform and have to do gay ass shapes

but you know what Chinese whispers are like; some newbie will read your comment and suddenly run and spread it all over the internet that the new 2010 Banwave disables all your XBLA games when you're banned.
I still can't believe people are so excited about a glorified eye-toy. Not that it's really surprising that the Xbots will eat anything up as long as it's made by microsoft.
Oh well just watch that tomorrow if you want to see Kinect like it really is.
Lots of cameras suffer from it in poor light conditions, well the only one I have tried other than the one in that video did
