So I got a new workplace I am going to be at for 2 months.
I don't have a lot of stuff to do (they said it themselves), but I have a PC with internet access. Problem ist, most sites are blocked and obviously I don't want them to know where I am surfing (like the Hump Cool Face )

I was looking for a way to maybe use my home PC as a router, so that only that IP would be visible to them. How would I go about doing this?
I CANNOT install any software on the work pc, like a VPN client. I also can't change the network settings, so that it would use a router. All I can do is navigate to certain websites...

Is there any solution for this?

I thought about these sites, but then again if someone looked at the logs they would see that site, and know what's up. But if it was just an IP, from say my home computer, they would have nothing...

How does that work without installing any software?

It depends fully on the IT guys at your work. Most of the time they simply don't give a shit so you can use obvious methods like proxies. If you restrain from jurking off to porn at work, I doubt you'll get any reprimands. So just use a simple proxy I'd say.

you search for proxies ips
or proxy website some ask for payment dont be ridiculus there are free sites

for ips you put them in firefox or any other browser ,option network and how you want to connect you put the proxies ips in the right box

or you type the adress you want through a proxy website
dont worry if it is slow Wink

can someone explain the vpn process?

1) start a proxy on your home PC (be sure to setup a password)
2) change the settings of the browser to use that proxy
3) surf ?? (problem admins? Cool Face)

even more, you might be able to encrypt the traffic between the proxy and your pc, so even if they sniff your traffic with your proxy, they can't see that you're browsing (forums.govteen.com or childporn.nl or lemonparty or stuff)

this reminds me of when I was working for Accenture on an NHS project. Their machines were so locked down it made life a bore. I installed mIRC and was chatting away when suddenly BOOM, security burst through the door and ask me to step away from the machine. They took the machine away and I looked like an idiot.

Short story - get a smart phone Cool Face

Problem with proxies is that I can't change the browser settings, the options for that are locked... Sad

But yeah, I should get a smartphone instead Wink

sshd @ home
ssh client @ work.

Just tunnel your traffic thru the ssh tunnel Smile Also, all the traffic will be encrypted this way, so they have no way knowing what are you browsing.
