I love shotguns i use the hunting one pretty often, with some shells you can even disable an enemy like that takedown move you can learn.
besides that you should also pick rapid reload, reloading this thing is a pain in the ass while in combat.
This in combination with revolvers i find KILLER.
Btw while i was reading my stats, i noticed water consumed said 0, Is this bugged?
Considering im playing on hardcore and drink purified water quite often.
And ontop of that, what was the highest amount of caps you guys found in some container?
My biggest catch was 400 caps.
I do got the fortune perk though.
My total caps 13 grand,
Barter amount traded : 15 grand.
Wow

And when you find it you'll get more caps than I did with that fortune perk.

More or less. Same damage, but much better accuracy.

In theory, every pellet with buckshot shell can inflict critical hit (for full gun damage, not just strength of pellet), which could lead to pretty decent damage in Fallout 3. When you have around 7 pellets, is almost guaranteed that one would make critical (on average). Also led to ridiculously powerful sneak attacks.
But in New Vegas, damage threshold (DT) is deducted from every pellet, making buckshot much worse against armored opponents (shotgun surgeon helps a bit to reduce this).

45 hours and I finally went to the strip. There were still a couple other locations I could have gone to, but I think I've more or less done all the quests. There were a few mines here and there I discovered and haven't explored fully yet.
I think you could probably put in a good 60 hours before you even set foot on the strip if you want.

I used about 30 or so mods just for quest fixes and workarounds, that compilation takes over a large part of them but new ones and updates for existing ones are released daily.
Hopefully it won't be like with Bethesda were the Morrowind and Oblivion patch projects (And partially the Fallout 3 project.) fixed a thousand+ different issues and several thousand item and object placement corrections and Obsidian will try and fix most of these in official updates. (Along with any engine issues that can't be fixed via mods.)

The game engine is very mature in the modding scene. I'm very glad, but not surprised to see the plethora of mods so far. At this rate it looks like NV may one day surpass Oblivion and FO3 for mods. We'll see.

probably right, as many fo3 mods are already ported or in the process of being ported over to fnv. I think i've already installed a couple of dozen of fo3>fnv mods alongside some of the new fnv ones.

I played Morrowind vanilla, was a great game. I played Oblivion vanilla, even mods couldn't "fix it". I played FO3 vanilla, was a good game. I played NV vanilla, great great game.
Modding is not "fixing", it's improving or adding.

I mean, just look at Kotor 2, NWN2 and Alpha Protocol.
Oh wait...

Not to mention it's made by Obisidian and not Bethesda so stop mentioning them all the time.

The amount of:
Quote: | Wow this game is so much better than Fallout 3! Go Obsidian!" |
Quote: | Wow this game is full of bugs! FU Bethesda!" |
that I've seen around the interwebs is just ridiculous.
Obsidian get's credit for the good stuff while Bethesda is blamed with everything that's wrong with the game.
Some people need to grow up FFS.

NWN 2 got supported with patches years after release until the legal quarrel between Atari and... what was it? Wizards of the Coast?... broke out and stopped all further support, including addons and patches beyond the last one.
Same thing with Alpha Protocol. I think Obsidian would have supported the game longer but SEGA pulled the plug.
The official support forums for FO:NV are controlled by its publisher Bethesda and not Obsidian as far as I know. Bethesda decides when and what kind of patches are released, and considering that their support for FO3 was dead after only a handful of patches, with the last few ones only adding new achievements and preparing them for DLC, I really hope they let Obsidian do their job.

But the only patch released for it was pretty weak.

NWN2 was awesome, and considering it had to implement a modified version of DnD 3.5, I think it did brilliantly, few devs dare tackle complex RPG systems like that, most just use dumbed down shit (Beth - Oblivion, FO3).
All in all, I think NWN2 was their best game, especially the MotB addon, which was as epic for me as Torment back in the day.
FO:NV? Better than FO3, but I think it's Obsidian's weakest game.
Best not speak further, or I'll be torn apart, but I didn't like it tbh. *runs, hides*

Daytime passes too quickly, and i hate nighttime in this game. Does anyone know of a trainer i can use to pause time or rewind it so i never have to see another night?

Set timescale to X
Default is 30 and 1 would be realtime so 30 times faster than normal, as with Oblivion and Fallout 3 low values might bug stuff as time simply passes too slow although it worked better in Fallout 3 than it did in Oblivion.
(In this game it might bug any script that forces a time advancement causing the game to crash, those I know of is the Doc Mitchell dialogue at the start before exiting which sets the clock to 8 in the morning, the Khan drug teaching which advances time by six or so hours and the Rex companion quest with that doctor which advances time a few hours.)
Game can also crash if you use the wait functionality and a NPC is trying to reach you and this value is modified, this is rather frequent from Victor until you get to Vegas proper to the faction messengers and star-bottle encounter and so on.
