Fucking Treyarch was smart to not allow offline multiplayer with bots OFFLINE.
You have to be online in order to play with bots on multiplayer, fucking gay, but smart on their part. Guess they assumed people would have downloaded the game just to play simulated online games with bots offline.
Damn I was hoping to practice multiplayer offline. I also don't like the fact that they removed game settings on split screen mode. Game just starts and you cant adjust anything in the game. GAY!

Well the single player is OK, more of a tom clancy type story than anything. One thing that grates my gears is your supposed to be "the best" yet so far its the video game equivalent of playing follow the leader(with the big FOLLOW" marker there to remind you. Another thing i dont like is all the canned animations, it really takes me out of the game when youve just seen the 20th enemy soldier do a forward roll in between 2 checkpintsl.
There's some nice lighting in the game, but i think they've gone a little too hollywood. Pacing is important in a game, here its just follow guy to check point, crazy set peice, follow guy to next check point. There's also been at least 2 obvious enemy respawns until hidden timer counts down and game scipt moves to next segment moments. A good game, but not without its flaws in the single player campaign. I honestly dont think i'm gonna pick this up for the PS3 for online, its a case of nothing to see here move along the frequency of these games is starting to hurt the franchise imho. Now i cant comment on the multi, and unless the reviews and peoples opinions say this is the second coming as far as multiplayer goes, my journey with black ops is likley to end at the end of the campign. i skipped world at war for much of the same reasons, it was getting old. I'm looking forward to hearing other peoples opinions on the game.
If the AI was a bit better and they didn't can so many animations id give it a little higher rating, i like games that make me forget i'm playing a game because i'm immersed. That comes down to a developer covering the flaws with well executed level design to distract you. (every game has flaws) I liken it to the COD version of killzone 2 , all style no substance, but i think the AI in killzone 2 was very good, so it made for a better and quite enjoyable experience despite its weak narrative.
Single player alone i give 7/10 so far. Maybe i'll adjust my score when ive completed the game

So, just burn and play or you need some wave patching or other magic to make it run?

I assume such a patch would only work on JTAG?
I am hoping someone does the same patch, but for the PS3!

I been playing this (campaign) for 1 hour. Dont like it, Feels like World at war = shitty sound and lightweight arcade feeling. Will see if it gets better
Treyarch only good CoD was CoD3 done on their own engine imo

I get why lots of people where bored with WW2, but I think Treyarch did a great job with WaW too. The last part of the game is so damn intense, and the gfx is actually better than COD4.

WTF-Cakes!
I downloaded and burn't Call of Duty Black Ops XBOX360 TP (XB360CBO.iso) however when launching i am getting a dirty disk error!
Really wierd, as I don't even have to patch WAVEx-WAVE2 cos my firmware is so damn old.
Have i missed something recently? If i've never had to patch games before, is there a reason I need to now?
I noticed that Call of Duty Black Ops READNFO XBOX360 FW - which according to the NFO is SSv1 - but as i say i've not had to patch anything else ever!
Maybe it's a dodgy ISO - unlikely as it's the main that hit usenet.
Any ideas anyone?

got the same problem with TP's version.
the dirty disc is due to no DVD file on the release. all you have to do is create one using Imgburn:
Tools
Create DVD file
layerbreak=1913760
on the top right, choose Browse for a file, choose the ISO.
that's it!
Enjoy

Bah i burnt the .iso directly - that seems to have been the problem (apparently).
I used ImgBurn to make a .DVD with layerbreak @ 1913760 - now re-burning from that.
What a waste of a verb!
