xbox is so much better then ps2, its a known fact.. i got both and i haven't downloaded\bought a game for ps2 in a cuple of years, except MGS3, that is a MUST GAME

No it isn't. IT WAS, but not anymore. PS2 graphics blow away Xbox.
Forza looks like crap compared to GT4.
Ninja Gaiden looks like crap compared to God of War/Tekken 5 etc..
Xbox is now a bullshit old PC system.

Its not a fact, its an opinion. Its also a way for those who dont have high end computers to play the games on there. The only difference is the graphics, able to setup linux, playing emulators, downloading to your XBox, and exclusives that later get ported to PS2/PC. I dont really see the need for linux or emulators on there. But hey it all comes down to opinion. PS2 has alot more titles and same games, XBox same and some exclusives. I have both systems and I play XBox for exclusives. I also have a high end computer so I most likely am going to play Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and other games on it. I think it comes down to what you can afford and what you want out of something. Obviouslly if you have a good PC your going to want the PC version.
MGS is a great game. But so is GTA, God Of War, Dragon Quest, SC III, Arc of Naphistism, and hundreds of other titles. GT4 is good. DMC 3 is good. Tekken 5. Katamari Damacy. Fatal Frame: Zero, Highlander, Resident Evil 4, Socom III, THUG 2, True Crime 2 (if you liked the first one). Too many to type. Me, I go where the games go. I could care less what a system has in terms of hardware. I do wonder though if XBox will get TC2 and Max Payne 3.

Hey par, the PS2 doesnt beat the XBox graphic wise. But it sure does have a much wider selection of games. But hell, its surprising how many people are graphics junkys on here, but when you look in the handheld sec, you see everyone trashing the PSP, and loving the DS.

Thx Pal. I just have to say its a matter of breaking the systems down. Both systems have its good games. In the end you have to judge. Do you want to build a huge XBox or PS2 or PC library. I like to build up all PS2/PC and build up XBox exclusives so that way I dont miss any games. But keep in mind when asking yourself about that great game out there. Take Splinter Cell for instance. Now... each vers has its own features. You have to decide are you going to want it for the PS2 with the water particles, or XBox, or PC. Depends if ur looking for graphics. I think people go very far when it comes to graphics. They should just judge themselves. I really dont think your missing much whether it be XBox or PC. Sure, the PC will always be better in terms of graphics, lets face it. But theres only so far you can go. Its not like the XBox vers of SC is making the PS2 vers look like some value soft game with the graphics. The same can be said for the PC. Its not making the XBox out to be any worse. When the day comes that they make graphics look like real life (as detailed as you can get), thats when you can say something about todays console standards. But even than, they would be classics already, and anyone shitting on them would be worse than a fan boy.

ps2 is getting old sony insist its only half way through its life cycle but you'd say that if u were trying to drag every last drop of cash out of it. M$ are bringing xbox 2 out way too early and they risking alienating xbox owners with this tactic but once again its all about the money. It depends what games you like, there wont be many rpg fans with xbox but its the opposite for fps (on console anyways).
On topic: I have both consoles and yeah i'm gutted calibur is gonna be ps2 exclusive and namco probably aint gonna get a purchase out of me due to this.
I think paracel needs to get a reality check ps2 graphics cant touch xb never will, doom 3 sorta shows that to good effect. I'm off back for more of that will u hold my hand it's scary thnx....

Wow, this thread turned into XBOX VS PS2. I don't own a PS2 anymore, and I don't really care about Soul Calibur. The last game was just a rehash of the first. They added new characters, but the graphics and the gameplay were the same as the first. UNtil they take the time to make the game better, PS2 can have it!!

Actually, being a fanboy is someone who thinks one thing is better than anything else. They never look at reality. Realitys PS2 was released first. So of course XBox will have something on it. But I imagine by the time PS3 comes around, it will have those top notch graphics. Its just the simple fact that Sonys not stupid. In a business you need a moneymaker, and timing. Sony is being carefull on when to release the PS3. The Nintendo Revolution is being careful also. If they rush the system, and do a slopup job, well than thats history for the company. Just think. Say Nintendo released the Nintendo Revolution this september... what do you think that would do? The first thing people would expect is it to have good capabilities. The next thing they would expect is good launch titles. Also would it be smart marketing? The first thing gamers are asking about a new system is... why should I buy this?

Amen, xbox is nothing more than a console with pc-games, it might have a few good titles like ninja gaiden, but thats it.
as Godlikez said the xbox doesnt have a lot of japanese developers making games for it, and if you didnt know, most of the diverse, unique, revolutionary games are japanese ones, and yes most of them are only available on ps2.

XBOX IS a PC hence u can play pc titles on it. And guys remember this, Xbox is the first, but PS2 is the second thus they have more to work with, if u know what i mean. take this for an example : NBASTREETT3>Fifa street
But fifastreet2 might be >nba street4 because then they can work with all drawbacks fifastreet1 had, if u get my point. PS was liek a "beta" of PS2 they could work with all Flaws and stuff which ps1 had and then they could make a better ps1, and thats what ps2 is and xbox never had a xbox they could use as a "beta". so the bottomline is, (OUT OF TOPIC!!!!) XBOX2>PS3

C'mon guys, get over this stupid console war... no doubt, Sony won. How can't they, with so many developers and a huge library of games. The variety of choice and quantity won over quality (graphics wise).
M$ placed 2nd, gaining more ground than they expected and now, after they learned from their mistakes, it seem they'll be much better prepared for the next generation console war. Starting to attract Jap developers like Hironobu Sakaguchi (the creator of Final Fantasy series) to develop games for the next Xbox, it sure is a great step forward for them.
The next battle between Sony and M$ will probably be more interesting than the first one, but I don't really care who's gonna win because I'll end up buying both consoles again.

While its true that the PS2 has a larger library of games, most people who own both systems prefer the xbox for shared titles. Quicker loading times, higher resolution, better sound, etc. I own both but its clear to me which is the superior console in terms of power although its nice to have a PS2 for exclusives. God of War and Tekken 5 show off the power of the PS2, but lets see the PS2 run a program as demanding as Doom 3.

It has been said that Soul Calibur 3 will be a PS2 Exclusive for year 2005.
It doesn't mean that we can't expect it to appear on Xbox in year 2006 and why not on xbox 2 !!!
Time will tell but don't forget Grand Theft Auto serie story and its PS2 exclusive release...

You know, I really am getting tired of this. Shut the fuck up already about which system owns the other. Whoopdi fuckin doo... so the XBox has better graphics... so the PS2 has a larger library. This is nothing new. The sad part is we have to spell it out for fanboys. You should all grow up. If everyone here is a fan of superior graphics... why is it the huge ammount of people go to the handheld section and say DS over PSP? This is a fuckin thread bout Soul Calibur 3... not about what system is better. If you wanna discuss on what system will have exclusive characters to their version, than do that. Last year they had Link for GameCube. And dont start about Doom 3... we both know that its far off from running at the quality it was meant to run at. So it has coop... can always download the mod for the PC.
Every time we have to sit here and listen to console wars. Than when some ignorant PS2 or XBox fan comes on here insulting the other console, little john becomes upset, and than proceeds to trash the guy.

your ps2 aka the one you played the game on mustve sucked real hard.
SC2 runs at perfect 60 fps on my ps2 at all times, never experienced any lag, btw did you notice that the xbox version actually runs a tad slower?

What i find disturbing is that everybody has something to say about XBOX vs PS2 or viceversa. It just shows how ungratefull we are for anything, we all should be happy for the freedom we have at choice of consoles. I always say this and I say it again it is personal preference, some people like certain consoles for different reasons why can't we just leave it at that. What's the point of having a logical and constructive disscussions when u take logical and constructive out of it. Disscussions should be without emotion. My personal preference is Xbox, PS2 does have some nice games. Could anyone tell me that one system is superior than the other no. Heck I still play old skool games. The topic at heart is Soul Calibur 3 exclusively to PS2, i liked the second one, do i feel disappointed that it is not coming to Xbox yes, is it the end of the world if it doesn't no so live life a little and don't fret over a game. Look at it this way there are tons of youths and people around the world who can't even get food and here we are fighting over a material thing. GET OUT LIVE A LITTLE.
