It's a dumbed down Fable 2 v1.5 stripped of RPG stuff and filled with even more Sims-like social shit.

it's the same 3d engine that the second opus, so it looks good, not very good but good enought to enjoy the journey.

Fable 3 looks horrid , models have this ghosting/blur effect to fake 60fps smooth motion , you can't do whatever you like , you only get some hotspots with 3-4 choices , and yet still they didn't fixed the pop up\streaming bug from fable 2 wtf i though this would be fixed in Fable 3 ... guess it will be on PC by modders that will higher the LOD, disable blur ang giveall DLC for freezzzz
FAble 3 is now more like GoW with morality meter

Hey been playing for a few hours in . I'm enjoying it but I can't seemt to unlock or use the co op option. It just says this feature is not available yet please come back later. Anyone have any idea why. Maybe the servers aren't online yet

Ha, with the complaints on this game - I have to wonder. . .what games do people like. Oh yes - Minecraft and games from the early 90's that are EPICS! Bah.
So far the game seems much more streamlined and finessed than Fable 2. The models look great, and the scenery is pretty damn good.
They've also tightened up the writing quite a bit. I thought Fable 2 was ok in this department - but they've realized you can have cheeky humour and an emotional weight without having to sacrifice one over the other.
As for the early game "decision" - it was good, but not immediately earth shattering. I imagine things will come back to bite you in the ass once you're further into the game.

So in terms of story/quest/world is it an improvement over fable 2? I found fable 2 ok, had some fun but I was really expecting more out of it.

I find it to be quite nice, yeah, they did seem to pull a Mass Effect 2 on us. The combat and customization is still there, but they have indeed stripped a lot of the old school RPG aspects out of the game, however, I do like the new "menu" for changing weapons and clothing, it's somewhat cool how it's not actually a menu but when you press start you teleport to your "sanctuary' and can fiddle with your character's weapons/clothing/magic etc... and pressing start again puts you back where you were in the game, I guess the best part about this there is next to zero loading time in between (actually less waiting on average than you had to with Fable 2's clunky ass inventory and menu systems) ...
Kinda reminds me of Black and White, instead of having a menu it's a room you can get around... I don't know, hard to explain, but you get the idea.
The story seems to be alright, the combat is still simple yet fun, I think for anyone that wants to say it's "dumbed down" I do think that Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 is a good comparison to what kind of modifications they've done between Fable 2 and 3...
I recommend it. Online co-op seems to be MIA at the moment, but couch co-op is there and it's better than last time.

the fable series = good quick but short fun to me
love that first day of playing it but then after the magic is gone, however that first day of play is worth it
