Well this is strange. I have played NV for a couple of days without other issues than that stuttering stuff which I fixed by using the d3d9.dll fix.

Now, I have just installed 4g of new RAM and suddenly I get sound dropout and loud static noise. I have tried some other games and played some mp3 and videos and all that works fine.
So why am I having problems with NV?

I'm running Win Xp Pro 32 bit and I know that I can't use all of my ram with this system, but can the extra ram really trip up the system? It's only one game that seems to be affected.

I have same problem... I can play 2 mins to 2 hours but it strikes, audio starts keeping static noise.
When I go to windows, I have to reboot my computer to get voice vorking again...
I have win xp pro 32bit and 4 gigs ram...

Yes I have. But fallout wont use that, I have confiqured ffshow...

I too had that problem, and I had ffdshow installed/properly configured. I ended up having to lower my audio sampling rate to 44100kHz instead of 48000kHz. That seemed to fix my problem. Then I uninstalled ffdshow because I don't need it anymore.

Thanks but where I can lower sampling rate... I just dont see that.... Confused

You lower the sample rate in Window's control panel, then go into the Sound app.
