thnaks guys,

I am currently downloading "Lost" since it got a good score. Also I am tying to avoid these cheap teenage series aka smallville, vampire diaries ......

I watched 2 ep of battle star galactica, couldn't get into it for some reason maybe casue of the bad actors acting.

@Waargh "Spartacus: blood and send" and "Prison break" are both comedies => Two and a Half Men
"Rome" is a good series => Mad Men is also good

Laughing

Won't hurt to try new stuff if he is interested. If not, he won't watch it. What's your problem anyway? Rolling Eyes

24 S1-S3 were great, and S5 was brilliant - really top of the line. Sadly, the rest ranged from horrible (S6) to meh (S4, SCool to good (S7). Overall I wouldn't call it quality television, but it was a nice escapism.

Didn't know quality shows (and most of them are not "artsy" at all) are now considered "fartsy". I guess lowest common denominator being all time low and all that. Embarassed

I actually hated the ending of LOST, thought it was dumb as heck. That being said, one thing I DID love about the show was the cast. Elizabeth Mitchell, Terry O' Quinn, Michael Emerson, Jeremy Davies, Henry Ian Cusick = some of the finest acting I have seen on television to date.

And "The Incident" is still to date my personal favorite single hour of television. Why did LOST have to ruin it all with the stupid sideways universe nonsense!! Why!?!?!?

Another vote for breaking bad. As someone who is familiar with what they are doing in that show I have to say how incredibly realistic it is. Wink Oh and the writing is awesome as well.

Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one

Neither really, but more to The Shield.

If you know NYPD Blue, the two are very much alike (this is a credit to Detroit, because Blue is one of the best police drams).

First, please tell me what's so good about Mad Men? I don't get the show apparently (same thing with Bing Bang Theory - just not funny to me).
And what's your gripe with Spartacus? The story is sort of ok and the blood and gore were more than enough to keep me interested Very Happy (not enough blood on tv I say!)
