Yeah I killed far more people jusing a knife than a gun/laser gun even though I had maxed my gun skills and not put a singel point into melee skill.

Hmm, now there is yet another patch http://store.steampowered.com/news/4527/ I guess we will see another cracked fix by Skidrow.
This is actually a good thing. I mean, if Bethesda/Obsidian intends to stomp out the bugs for good, then the Steam platform seems excellent as it is easy for the Devs to roll out these fixes. Smile

I think you are a little too harsh on the Obsidian guys. Smile Personally, I haven't come across any bugs yet, except for the radio who seems to only wanna play the same 5 songs.

Well, in Oblivion a melee-fighter was in my opinion harder due to the excellent blocking abilities many enemies were using permanently. Oblivion (and the TC Nehrim, too, by the way) is most easy with a mix of thief (stealth), ranger (bow) and mage.

Does anybody like the ability to collect plants and ingridients now? I mean, this is not Gothic neither Oblivion. It does not fit to the Fallout world. When playing sometimes I though "oh, this may enhance my Alchemy skill ..uups wrong game"

Generally I do not like that the world is now far more colorful and vivid than in Fallout3. The atmosphere of complete devastation was almost perfectly captured in Fallout 3. Vegas feels different. I know, its story-related, since Vegas shall take place in a part of the Fallout world being less destroyed than other parts, but the mood and atmosphere in Fallout 3 was far more my taste.

Yeah, playing on v.hard I had been using nothing but guns - then I ran out of ammo. All I had left was my trusty shovel, I thought.. shit, dead for sure. To my surprise, I ended up cleaning house with it. (this is with no melee points or perks.)

Also, there seems to be a good few perks to boost melee/unarmed damage and the stunlock perks. Can see it being quite unbalanced - except perhaps for fighting Deathclaws and such, which two shot me right now...

I just got owned by a swarm of Casadors (sp?) Giant red flies that fucking two-hit me if i let them come close. And they soak so much punishment - it's ridiculous - more than a half of clip from the laser repeater to kill one. Had to take a huge detour to avoid them. I mean it's one thing to get killed by a pack of deathclaws but a bunch of red flies - come on Sad

Heh, found some Nightkin, reward was really worth exploring the place but they make normal super mutants appear easy to deal with.
(I got this huge sword of one of them as well, not really that useful as such but really cool looking, and a toaster.)

EDIT:

(Ammo and maintenance for these things are going to be very costly.)

Where the fook are the energy weapons!? I'm going crazy here. The laser pistol is useless at this point and the Laser RCW is almost broken down sionce there are no others to repair with. I really should've chosen guns Sad So many great weapons to be had there and ammo is all over the place.

I read on the official forums that having Boone or Raul as a companion is a great help against these fuckers. They make them so strong that it almost ruins the game.

I got Boone late last night and will find out today.

Well, I bought a Plasma pistol in the beginning of the game, bought from the trader in Goodsprings.
And now I have found a Plasma rifle in Nipton (I think it was inside the Town hall).

Those weapons don't really cut it when you progress further. The Laser RCW is pretty powerful, but I can't find any ammo or another one anywhere. I constantly convert SEC to ECP and it pisses me off.

Is there any mod or console command to respec?

Anyone ever 'lost' ED-E? I finished his quest, picked him up again in Primm, followed me a bit, and after a while, I noticed that only Boone is with me, ED-E is gone. I still have the sensor perk, so he's not dead, just...lost. Even though no matter how far a companion is, after a fast travel they should all be around me, and still, only Boone follows me around.

If you enter a building your companions should respawn inside.

I know, but it's inefficient untill you get a specific perk and you'll have to use the workbench a lot.

Hey JB, I'm level 24 now, didn't go to vegas once, still didn't see the armor I previously asked about once and keep running around exploring/doing side missions.

Where is this place Very Happy
The gun looks fancy.

@ED-E Quest
You have to repair ED-E in Primm, go to Gibson Scrapyard (If the quest is stuck there, type "setstage 001572e8 10" into the console), then go to Helios One and talk to Ignacio Rivas about ARCHIMEDES, continue playing then and eventually someone will contact you through ED-E. After that, everything will be selfexplained.

Is there a console command or mod that makes guns, rifles etc more powerful? Both for the player and the enemies?
I want to give this game a second chance but the underpowered guns really kills the fun for me.
