Is there any difference between the PC and 360 versions graphic-wise? It looks exactly like F3 on the 360 and I'm experiencing screen freezes quite often. The loading times are a nightmare.

Yes and no.
"toggleEmotions" helped me out a great deal to counter the NPC lag stuff though. Plus, it doesn't really change anything noticeable visually.

It helps with the mouse acceleration, not sure for performance

If I tweak the fallout config file and run the game it reverts back to read only and won't save the changes...anyone know a way around that? XP Home
*nevermind, just had to make it read only again before starting to save changes*

Hmm so far game runs with no performance issues as far as i can tell,, wether trying thread changes in ini, the game still does not stress my cpu, nor my card right now.. but no slowdowns either so not complaining..
like the gun animations on reloading etc seem nice, will play it later more for sure.. DLC,s installed and worked all fine.

Spoiler: | Anyone know who jacklyn is? she just showed up in the middle of the desert when I rested. I think she's a star cap thief, but she didn't turn hostile like the first guy |

Didn't really care for FO3, could never get into it.
However, THIS game....THIS game is GOTY. The atmosphere is remarkable and the gameplay is GREAT!
Only thing I don't like is that it feels like I'm skating around, especially when running forward. Its like a tiny lag where my player barely moves in the last direction I pressed.....not a hardware lag as I am not using a wireless keyboard.
GREAT fucking game!

something is bugged with perception
I have base perception 5
I have the four eyes perk with reading glasses +1 for glasses +2 for the item
and I have a hat with +1
total should be 9, but it's showing me only 7.
what's up with that?

Take the glasses off and see if there is any difference. Maybe you have wrong type of glasses ?

what's the safety of chests here? if I leave stuff is it going to stick around. I'm slightly over encumbered and want to go dump stuff via fast travel, but I wanted to stick a couple things in a chest first

After 8 hours and same amount of levels, New Vegas feels like what FO3 should have been. Really, really great from what I've seen so far. The world for one feels much more alive, what with the distant gunfire sounds and
Spoiler: | an ambush attempt by a road gang when I was going on a road in a small canyon. Bastards got me the first time, too, because during the gunfight I ran straight into a mine. |
I'm only playing on normal difficulty, and yet I'm still very vulnerable when it comes to harder enemies. In FO3 you could kill super mutants at level 2 so this is a very welcome change.
Question about NCR reputation for those who are further along:
Spoiler: | I helped the Powder Gangers and got myself shunned by NCR - not all that smart in hindsight. Any ideas on how to quickly patch things up? I was already visited by NCR headhunters who told me I have 3 days left to improve my rep. Thought I'd just kill them too but my crappy weapons barely nicked their armor. It's been 2½ days now and I still have the same rep... Unless the Mojave Outpost I just arrived to doesn't have any quests to help redeem myself, I guess I'm screwed. Mommy! |
Love the new apparels too, I look like straight out of Mad Max 2.

this mod is essential. http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34723
Also I concur with inz, as stated in my original post on page 36, this game is great and it's what Fallout 3 should've been.
Have Obsidian do all future Fallout games and you can publish them Bethesda, just don't make them yourself.
Also if it escaped peoples attention Garden of Eden Creation Kit has been found, all hail the great wanderer MCA.

Averaging in the high 30s (which is still lame, but at least no stuttering) and peaking in the 90s, never dropping below 34. | That's exactly the same performance I got in Windows 7. And I would be more or less fine with that, if I hadn't seen it running 60+ fps at all times in Windows XP.
So for now I'll stick with XP (ewwwwww).

The game is great, after trying it last night, I ordered it today. There's a good deal from Play.com if you're in Europe: the game + the Collector Prima Guide for 36.98 GBP

Working for me, but since it is D3D9.dll, it won't use the DX10-Apis?
