OK! I loaded Gaia rc9, got EA MMA, Edited the PARAM.SFO via the PS3SFOEdit tool and changed the version to 3.4100. FTP'd the game to dev_hdd0/GAMEZ folder and when I tried to launch the game, the game ICON (PS3 XMB menu) comes up as 'corrupted data'. When I tried to launch the game, it said 'EA MMA needs to install some files on the HDD'. Since the PS3_UPDATE folder was in there, I didn't feel too comfortable doing it, as it might accidentally updated the firmware to 3.42. It could have been the game data too, but didn't want to risk it. Now I went back to FTP and deleted the PS3_UPDATE folder from it, launched the game from Gaia, it came up with an Error code 8002 (something like that) and wouldn't launch the game.
What am I doing wrong out here?

Today the psjailbreak.com have updated their download. Just check this http://psjailbreak.com/download/
They have upped a new manager there. I checked this morning, and then it was still that old one from last month. So dloaded the newer one. Dont know is it the 1.1 or not ?!? Somebody dload and try, im going to movies now, maybe on the night i have time to check.
PS: Sabin, what the fuck is a.b.b4e/a.b.console.ps3 ?!?

So i can install PSN games now I'm on hermes v4 right?
What is out there? I've never really fucked with PSN. Only interested in shooting, racing, anything creative / new. Not interested in RPG or MMO kind games
Gonna get Wipeout HD first to try it!

Yeah that and you can press square to direct boot games, but we already had that feature anyway.
You can just see its a muppet who got lucky that someone from sony leaked/sold him the firmware hack (Just in time for christmas to boost PS3 sales btw) Has no idea what they are doing. WOuldnt be suprised if it were Sony themselves leaking it
Now sony have updated games to need newer firmware people will be buying additional consoles so they can play older unsupported games for free and newer games online. Genius from Sony, this is exactly what I predicted would happen, l granted I thought it wouldve happened before now, but still, to win the so called console war and outsell the 360 Sony have released this hack to make it like the 360. Do you honestly think so many 360s would have bveen sold if they were unhackable???? No chance
Its not like sony lose out on PSN subscription as its free (apart from newish + features)
Sony have released this hack themselves to sell more units, imo, newer games wont be able to run on the older firmware so they wont lose out on new game sales, and people will buy more consoles because they can play older games for free and emulation/homebrew/linux. its pure marketing genius.

Questions:
1, WipeOut HD is in .JB format, not .PKG - what do I do with it? Never mind, I opened it in WinRAR and saw the right folders etc. Must have been dodgy release!
2, Am I right in saying everytime I turn my ps3 on, I have to go into Gaia and then "launch" a selected game, then wait for it to boot back and then play it? (direct launch doesn't work btw). Cant the machine remember the game you chose last time and let you play it without going via Gaia?
3, Anyone know why I have to reset my iPod Mini 1G every time I want to boot the PS3? On top of this, I also seem to have to unplug the PS3 power cable and plug it back in again! It's as if the hacked payload only works once before the iPod needs a hard reset (up and centre button held down together)?
If I do not reset the iPod before turning on my PS3 every time, I get the unknown device detected error! Is this normal for the iPod Nano 1G?

1. I have absolutely NO idea what a .JB file is. Never heard of one and certainly not in relation to jailbreak rips :\
2. Yes, you have to do it every time. The "loading" of a game via Gaia is just basically mounting the data onto the BD-Emu .. the machine state gets reset back to default every time your reboot, so you have to remount the data.
3. No idea  Sounds like a limitation with the ipod running the exploit..

What he was saying is not entirely bull shit. There is always a chance. Basically Sony selling PS3 console on loss. Maybe they are now on break even point or actually making profit from each console selling. Look at 360. Every drive is hacked even the newer slim one. More over they still did not stop the nand dumping on slim after Jtag exploit.
One more big example is how MS marketed windows/office or adobe photo shop. They do not target any particular individual in a developing country. They new 90% of home users using windows are pirated but they are not doing anything. Because if people are scared and find alternative the big IT and sales marketing companies are also go with the flow and stop using MS product.
I am not saying Sony doing it purposely but there is always chance.
