New release of the "Classic" pack. Earlier one was broken, so give this one a try.

Very poor performance: dips to 30ish, which is completely unplayable, because this engine is simply no good for shooters. It's basically VATS or frustration for me, and it dips to those no matter the settings.

e7200 @ 3.6; 4870 1g; 4g ram @1200; 7200 RPM hard, and 550 W power supply. Now, yeah, it's not a gaming rig by modern standards, but I make most games work on almost highest settings, with loads more fluidity.

I actually hate choppiness, I don't care for GFX quality, but if it's choppy, it's very disturbing. Pfft, shit engine from 2k6.

Is anyone else having problems accessing computer terminals? I have tagged the science skill and I am trying to hack the terminal in the schoolhouse in the first town and it is supposed to be "Easy" skill but it is not working. At all. I have quicksaved and loaded about 30 times now and with 4 attempts each time I absolutely should have unlocked it by now even if it were a Hard difficulty. I'm hoping this is just a bug or something and not some kind of trigger

Are you running Windows 7 64bit by any chance? I have similar problems, so do lots of people on the Bethesda forums. As soon as I face an npc, the fps suddenly takes a nosedive. Everything at the very minimal graphics settings and different tweaks make no difference either.

Hopefully they'll come up with a fix soon, the thread on their forums is here

For those of you that have performance problems, the following may work...

Try to turn Reflection Quality under the Water tab down to medium. I had constant 1 second stutters no what settings I chose, so I tried turning everything up, one by one and for me this reflection Quality was the one thing ruining the performance.

Now I'm running with everything else on highest settings @1680X1050, except for AA which is off and Aniso which is 8 and V-sync on (if it's off then the game will run too fast inside buildings).

I also forced triple Buffering from my Nvidia driver control panel, since that should work well when V-sync is on (but it eats up ram).

Anyway, this game is now running fine on my old Pc: Q6600 2,4 Ghz, GF8800GTS(G92), 2Gb DDR2 ram, Win Xp Pro 32 bit.

I am considering to turn down the draw distance a bit, since I get a tiny hint of a stutter now and then but this is really minor.

Game is awesome so far, but a little easy. Playing on Hardcore, now in Mojave outpost and wasn't even close to dying yet. One thing that annoys me - too much loot to carry with me Smile

Same shit performance here, even normally outside already.

This is not my rigs fault, you would think that a Phenom² x4 955 BE combined with a GTX470 would run this game at max settings @ 1920x1080... well 23 fps when i first put a step outside.

Poorly optimized as usual from this engine.

Well from what we know, the other two actually DO work. Nobody here has complained about broken textures or missing/non-functional DLC items from the other two packs. It seemed to be only Classic and Tribal that had issues -- Mercenary and Caravan seem to be ok.

I found that thing as well, it's part of the "Wasteland weird" trait.
(That and a encounter near the wells that might or might not trigger is what I've found so far.)

Also found the Survival Guide as a survival skill book in some areas.

Nice to see the other DLC as well. Smile

2 From sabin's first dlc post, classic from the second and tribal from the nexus.

you guys do know about the iFPSClamp=0 fix for the microstuttering, if any of you have it, set it in both ini's to 60 as it halves your FPS and no more stutter, and also to get your controller working use the x360ce.exe and your controller will work, game was kinda made with a gamepad in mind, hence the shitty mouse acceleration. Fallout 3 worked the same way for me..

Yes, you can use all four DLCs alongside each other - gaining the benefits/items from all. They're standard "starter" items so no doubt you'll replace them soon enough, but they're good to start with. Anyway - in one link - here are all four, working, preorder DLC packs.

Tribal, Classic, Caravan and Mercenary

Fuck yeah. That's what I say. Shit-old computer. Details set to high as that is what it detected automatically. Looks way better than F3 did. And runs smooth. I'm still doing tutorial quests. Only had a few fights so far (geckos, powder gang guy, and those fucking mantis things). Hacking is the same as in F3 and usually easy if you ever played mastermind. Smile No stuttering at all for me.

Only problem I've encountered so far is I can only zoom OUT on the maps. If I flick the wheel to zoom in quickly it zooms a tiny bit in and then right back out. And when scrolling in lists, if I scroll slowly it doesn't do shit. I have to scroll fast (flick it) to make it scroll.

After 30 minutes or so I'm really digging it. Of course, 10 minutes later I could find some game stopping shit but so far I really like it.

Actually it looks pretty much the same as FO3. I'm getting irregular performance as well, and if the engine is just inherently shitty, I doubt it'll get fixed.

Aight so i started playing, and noticed my framerate dipped from 60+ to 20 in the introduction.
No fuss i ignored it, untill i left the house, it was stuck at 22 an unplayable rate.
After strugglin with the settings i gave up and fired up XP, guess what rock solid performance.

Tested this two times on the exact same location (save spot), W7 would stick at 20 fps, while xp it goes up to 50.
Strange shit if you ask me, anyways im back to the game, starting actually.

All on ultra settings btw. 1920x1080 no aa.

I can confirm this. Just tried it myself. Win7x64 => 20fps, XP => 60fps. Same settings, same savegame.
Guess i play on XP until a patch comes.
