yeah. 3 years it's 269, i got 60 or so fido dollars so i can get it for 200.
but it's on a waiting list to even get that.
seriosuly... i don't want to pay moar than 300.
fido has ACER LIQUID E for 30$ for 3 years... but apperantly it's shit.
im purdy shure if i were to buy a hot phone, i can get a 700 dollar phone for 300.
i just need to know which phone is good enough and awesome enough to last me at least 2 years.

if you get the moto droid ya you can (any android actually). It's easier to get free games on android than it is iOS. All you need to do is download the apk (same thing as IPA) pop it on the sd card, use a file browser like astro and install the apk. Don't even need to have root access due to android letting you download apps from the web and not just the market.

i might go with xt720 as i can pick it up this weekend.
and use it for a year or two until the new iphone comes
i just need a proper sales pitch for android
since it's the only phone i can get at the moment
well there's also mobilicity and telus.
but yeah that's pretty much it.

do i need to unlock the xt720 to work with my provider or is already unlocked regardless of which provider i buy it from. Cause some phones like iphone and them shitty phones are locked to providers but when i checked several sites it says they work with other providers as well.

It mostly depends on where you buy the phone/contract.
Usually if you buy directly from the provider it will have netlock, but many shops offer phones without netlock, because they buy them somewhere else.
So when it says no netlock, it is probably unlocked.

Well it being from Motorola you're gunna get one of the better android devices by far including build quality. The CPU being 550 mhz might be a lil sluggish at times but theres "home launchers" that'll completely redo your screens (think of it as your desktop, like on the iphone) that can greatly improve performance like "Launcher Pro" which everyone who has an android pretty much uses.
If you go root access (jailbreak) you gain access to the ability to control your CPU speeds. Install a custom kernal and you can overclock it Motorola uses the speeds they do to help with battery but, set your profiles with setcpu and you can downclock while your phone "sleeps" (screen off)
My only thing is it looks like it doesn't have a physical keyboard, but since your an iphone user you won't be missing it anyways , I personally like the bottom four buttons to be physical like on the droid 2 (I have the droid 1), but no biggy really.
Don't worry about the memory it comes with, it'll get 2.2 eventually (or just use root) to install apps to your SD card
Guess my only compaints on it after reading is no physical keyboard (again shouldn't bother you) and 2.1 (motorola is usually good about pushing updates)

There are none except screen brightness and color - only if compared to AMOLED (latest HTCs) or Super AMOLED (Galaxy S). Don't get me wrong it's still 3.7" of awesomeness, but Galaxy S has THE best screen on the planet.
Otherwise XT720 = great design, metallic case, good camera etc.

We're talking about Droid2 here. It's 720mhz and not sluggish at all, i've tested it.

ya read my post I just posted different cpu speeds in the uk. The one he'll end up getting is the speeds you stated.
But ya, the Droid 2 is the Droid 1 with a bit updated cpu and interface.
Droid 2 has a 1ghz cpu but only a 5mp camera as well as a physical keyboard
XT720

dunno man, from what I'm reading the XT720 doesn't seem all the bad. I run my droid at 800mhz and the 720 comes stock just short of that so it'll be all gravy.

Heres a decent review of it
http://gizmodo.com/5443835/nexus-one-review
1GHz cpu will make it snappy HTC isn't a brand I prefer though as their phones are VERY lightweight and they feel such and they use a custom UI which gives you slower pushes for updates (the phone maker has to remake the update to work with their custom UI) and their phones don't feel very durable for what your paying.
But with that said they make the sleekest and some of the fastest androids. I'm a motorola fan when it comes to android, my friend likes the HTC's, I've used em and they're nice and can't go wrong. Motorola also uses physical keyboards which is an always a must for me with any phone I own so that was a big thing with me against HTC as well, but like I said, pick it up and try it out and see if it fits you.
