Hermes V4 is supposedly really sloppy and youre better off sticking with Hermes V3 for right now. I dont have sources but have read this a few different places now.

It seems that after a while, these 2 won't be upgradeable? Is this true and should I go for a teensy++ ?

Every payload TO DATE works perfectly on the 16KB Minimus. The only one that "supposedly" needs more than 16KB is the AsbestOS loader that may or may never see the light of day. Yes, I'm butthurt about Marcan and his ego. I fully believe his 64KB requirement is artificial just to stick it to the "pirates" that bought the cheap, low-storage, USB devices.

I've got the Team Xecuter Minimus, mate. As for PS3Key or PS3Break? Neither? I'm not a fan of the idea of cheap clones -- too much risk involved and, especially in the case of PS3Key, if you DO get a proper one and not a clone of a clone of a clone, you're still held at the developer's mercy when it comes to firmware updates.

PS3Key is pretty trustworthy though.
Also, they have just recently announced plans to open tools so people can flash whatever they want (at risk of course) to their PS3Keys.

Regarding PS3Key, i just got this email from them. Where they inform about a new firmware and custom firmwares:
Spoiler: | We have just released PS3Key v3 updates for both Atmel and
Silabs-based PS3Keys and also made the open HEX code available.
All of this is available in the download area at:
http://www.ps3key.com/en/members/downloads/
The v3 update adds the functionality of the popular "Hermes v3"
payload, with various modifications. Note that no serial number
is required to download the open HEX update which can be be used
on generic AVR devices.
In the past few weeks we have received several requests from
distributors and end users who wish to be able to flash their
PS3Keys with the very latest firmwares that are not yet available
from ps3key.com.
As customer satisfaction is our number one priority, we have
decided to release material and source code necessary to make
this possible in the very near future.
The PS3Key update system was designed to protect end users from
bricking chips with bad updates. A word of caution is therefore
necessary here. If you experiment with custom updates your
WARRANTY WILL BE VOID, and it is possible to BRICK the Atmel
version of so that an external AVR programmer is necessary to
restore any functionality. Generic AVR-based dongles and
SiliconLabs-based PS3Keys are safer for experimenting with
custom updates.
If you wish to use the product as advertised we strongly
suggest you do not experiment with custom firmware unless you
have some AVR experience and an AVR programmer on hand just in
case.
We are now working on modularising the code and will release an
update incorporating the "Hermes v4" features soon. We will also
make source code and material for generating custom updates
available soon. While compiling custom updates might add
bleeding-edge features not yet available in the official PS3Key,
it is not something we recommend for inexperienced users.
Preferably, please be patient and trust us to deliver a safe
update solution for you. It might take a little longer than the
other versions available on the web, but you'll have the piece
of mind that you're covered by our warranty in the unlikely event
that something does go wrong.
Thank you for your continued support of PS3Key!
PS3Key Team

Is it possible to get the new downloadable Net Flix installed?
I popped in the NetFlix disc and now it says the disc wont work after 31 days since you can now download the NetFlix app. But we need PSN to get it from the store.

Shit! It requires 3.42. I found the file its here for anyone who wants it, 3rd post.
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=129963
I cant seem to unpack the .pkg file using PKG_Tool v.05 hoping to edit the PARAM.SFO to 3.41.
Hopefully someone can figure it out.

Are these releases working just by loading it on the USB stick and clicking on 'install.pkg' file OR is there a bigger procedure involved?
Anyhoo, I have a quick question. How do I flash my AT90USB162 with Hermes V4b? I have downloaded the AMTEL FLIP software and also got the Hermes V4b folder. Now what?

It was reported by 3rd party sites as rumor, never actually said by PSJailbreak.

EHEM!
This is right on THEIR OWN homesite on http://psjailbreak.com/news :
"We will officially be releasing our support for new firmwares by October 20th, and Backup Manager v1.1 a few days after."
So now they got less than a day now to keep their promise.
