Newshosting bends over and takes it from the MPAA/HBO! They're filtering content like a motherfucker now - the first few blocks of every file will be broken if it's an HBO show - worse yet, they won't admit it.
I've been with them for several years, but just now caught on to what they were doing when I went to grab the last few episodes of True Blood. I found it a bit odd that Boardwalk Empire had the same issue.
Anyway, switched to Astraweb for $11/mo , surprise surprise , not a single broken file. SSL, 700+ day retention, all at $11 instead of $15.
Shame on those Newshosting cocksuckers for screwing their customers like that.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Astraweb is #1 as far as I'm concerned. I don't bother with SSL though, it drops performance by 1-1.5MB/s for me.

Couldn't agree more, mate. Several YEARS now and not a single complaint about Astraweb or their service.

So how does this usenet thing work? You pay 10$ and you get unlimited downloads from some sort of server? I'm a noob if it comes to usenet, how are they better from torrents from private trackers?
Also if you pay 10$ it seems your speed get's limited to 1Mbit , so either I'm reading this wrong or I won't be able to DL with my usual speed from torrents (2.1 MB/s ) and I would have to pay 15 bucks for unlimited speed?

Unless you find sites offering short-terms trial accounts; just register whenever you need to dl something and voilĂ - amazing speed without paying. Even better if the aforementioned sites allows you to register trials again and again with new email accounts

The Astraweb default plan is limited to 1Mbit/s, it's their DSL plan you want - special offer right now for $11 - and it really is unlimited speed.
-edit-
ah. the offer ran out so it's back up to $15 >_< |
Not quite, I average around 67 mbit on my 100mbit. Download and upload.
